I'm tempted to buy a pair and put on ebay in a month and see how much they go for then.

Didn't Jordan use to wear shoes that did not correspond with the team colour or something, and as a result the NBA fined him every time he wore it. Didn't Nike also take advantage of this fact and sponsored Jordan everytime he was fined, and made a commercial claiming the shoes were so good they were banned in the NBA.

I can't find any youtube videos about these shoes which is very odd. I expect that to change in the next week though. This is golden advertising for that company.

If those increased my vertical more than 6" I would have looked into getting those...

I have a 28" vert and I need about 4-5 more inches to touch the rim... :(

Untrue. There's what, 450 players in the NBA? Even if every single one of them buys one it only makes 450 pairs. Now imagine you just lost these 450 pairs in sales but every kid now knows that it's banned in the NBA. Sales are gonna go sky high. Also expect NCAA players wear them.

One of the articles posted mentioned a pair of Air Jordans being banned because of the color. This is the first pair of shoes banned for unfair competitive advantage.

Apparently, a material in the sole at the ball of the foot that compresses when you push down and then springs back as you jump to give you an extra lift. Reading that interview posted, it sounds like they've got connections with established shoe company execs who no doubt have connections with the NBA. I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but it's not much of a stretch to think that there were some personal favors made to get this shoe -- which no player is even wearing -- banned to give them some free publicity. The only piece of counter-evidence is that if this ban was coordinated with the company, you'd think they'd have their servers ready to handle the web traffic.

HA! They were probably worth under $75 pre ban. Sweet sweet kickback.

Didn't adidas have a shoe with a built in microprocessor?
