We all knew it was going to Westbrook. It's hard to beat out a guy that averaged a triple double. I hope Harden comes out with a fire again. The last time he finished second in the MVP voting, the following season was a dumpster fire. Let's seriously avoid that.
Nah, he said before this whole thing he thought Westbrook was going to win. It's stupid that he won, Westbrook basically won the MVP because Durant left the Thunder. When it comes down to it, that's why he won.
The biggest joke though was Bob Meyers winning Executive of the Year... for what? Being lucky that Durant could join your team due to a massive salary cap increase? Morey on the other hand hired D'Antoni and made 4 key acquisitions around Harden to create one of the best offenses of all-time and 3rd best team of the season despite the previous year's dumpster fire.
Well I didn't mention Bev due to that but anything in the works that involves JUST CP3 hasn't shown any inclination of involving EG. That's obviously only what we see on the outside though, so you could be right.
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/246501/Bob-Myers-Wins-NBA-Executive-Of-The-Year Bob Myers has been named the 16-17 NBA Executive of the Year. Myers previously won the award for the 14-15 season. The Golden State Warriors led the NBA in regular season wins for the third straight season. Myers was critical in signing Kevin Durant in free agency and then building out a solid supporting cast despite a lack of cap flexibility. Daryl Morey finished just two points behind Myers with 57 compared to 59. Myers received nine first place votes compared to seven for Morey. Dennis Lindsey finished third.
wins is what got bev/eg/mda their awards......and this roster don't win even 20 games without harden, who got nuthin, nuthin at all
The show after the awards show is fun. Dunk King. Much much better then the NBA dunk contest. Like light years better.
the players and Jerry West had a much bigger hand in bringing KD to GS...he shouldn't have won sh*t Morey deserved it
I agree...ESPN & TNT's golden player for MVP next year will be Leonard. For whatever reason, they don't like Harden.
If the Rockets for miracle get Paul and George, finish the season in first place with 65 wins and Harden averaging 25/5/7, you already know Kawhi will win with his 25/5/3 and the Spurs with a 53 wins record because "he's the best two way player in the league". Every year the criteria spins just to fit the media narrative. I actually think that Westbrook would've won anyway this year, even if he wouldn't have been able to average the triple double because yeah, "he has no help, Durant left and they still made the playoffs, almost average a triple double bla bla".
