my main issue with 2k is that in mycareer mode you can never be put on the teams you want. I've literally tried to get traded 10 times to the rockets (they wanted me the most of any team), and have never been traded to them. Instead, I repeatedly get traded to Charlotte, Detroit, Orlando, or some other BS crap team...why can't they just let you choose your own team??
Here is a workaround for you: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EXwkKULRc7s It works most of the time. I got traded to the rockets, but then I was stuck on a rookie scale deal forever. I'm not sure if that's because of Morey or a flaw in the game. Probably a flaw in the game.
Live and EA always do this every single year with their trailers for sports games, and every year people fall for it. The only game that actually ends up living up to the trailers with the gameplay itself is FIFA from EA. Graphics have never been an issue for Live, and judging from that video, none of that shows off any real gameplay which if I had to go off of their history is going to be subpar compared to 2K.
I generally just wait until the rookie contract expires (two years for me last time because minny didnt pick up the team option.. made no sense but thats par for the course with 2k GM's)
Yes, but at least it doesn't look like the players will be moving around the floor like they're on skates as is the norm for 2k games... Momentum is one thing... but, honestly, if an NBA court were that slippery half the league would be on the injured list...
There are bigger, more irksome issues in the game to talk about than this... From my experience, all I have to do to work around this "problem" is to simply place the team I'm most interested in... in the number two slot on the list of three... It's worked out every time, although I've only requested to be traded twice thus far... One of them involved being traded AWAY from the Rockets... for reasons pertaining to those bigger, more irksome issues I mentioned... The interaction between the player and the GM has little to no actual influence on the direction of the team... It's, like many things in the game, flawed because it prioritizes player rating over truly important elements essential for winning in the NBA... such as team chemistry, team needs, and competent coaching... Anytime I've requested for a player to be traded from our team, very reasonably so... The GM refuses to do so if the player has a rating over 85... even with the backing of his poor stat-line in back to back seasons... It seems oblivious to the player's poor fit and poor performance, including the post-season... The GM will easily trade me, despite my rating, or performance for a compatible player or group of players no matter how poorly their overall production fails to compare with my own for an entire season or back to back seasons ... but not anyone else on his team... It's baffling, how the star player on the team (despite my desire of being a number 2-3 option/lockdown defending specialist) has his wishes denied left and right by the GM (except for trade demands that only involve you), and when he's finally had enough, not so much as an attempt to persuade him to stay... It's ridiculous for a game that's supposedly leaning more towards "simulation" than arcade in it's take on NBA basketball... That's another thing... They need to stop forcing players to be the star offensive player in MyPlayer... Why even have options as to the type of player you want to be in the creation process, if they game will scrap your ideas and insist you be the next Lebron or else be doomed to incessant failure as it'll cripple your team's AI while making every member of the opposition into All-NBA first teamers... demanding you takeover in order to have any chance of winning... For god's sake... I started out wanting to do no more than defend at an exceptional level, scrap, hustle, steal, do the dirty work, cut (with great leaping ability) and nail the open three at a respectable rate... Currently, I'm a superstar offensive powerhouse, routinely getting 40+ points a game, sporting handles the likes of Allen Iverson and Tim Hardaway combined... because the game has forced me to do so... If I don't, we don't win any of the big games... It's insane that this is still the case, despite currently being on an OKC team that features Durant, Westbrook, and (stupidly thanks to the GM ignoring my reasonable off-season list of 5 free agents that could really help the team's great need of rebounding and low-post defense) Zach Randolph... It's tedious, and has reduced regular season play in MyPlayer to a repetitive routine that allows no spontaneity or in-game surprises... so much so, that I wish MyPlayer would have a "simulate" option for regular season games... ALL of them.. What of the coaching..? Does it even matter in MyPlayer..? I haven't been able to find out, as I've yet been able to get the GM to make a coaching change, no matter how many times I select the "yes, make an immediate change" option... The rotations the coaches seem to make, again, revolve around that old issue of prioritizing ratings, over team needs, chemistry and actual merit based on pure production alone... Rc Cola was right, this is a broken game... Black top online, team-up and even association mode has been fun (that could some some tweaking as well, however) but MyPlayer has been an incredibly frustrating experience...
Would anyone like to trade their pre-order of a used copy of Diablo 3 PS4 edition? The condition is like new with minimum usage.
