I don't see why people care so much about ratings. Overall stat is just a convenient number system - may have nothing to do with how the video game character actually performs. Maybe Ellis has a lot of stats that make his overall high, but those stats don't correlate to great performance in game. For instance, DEF awareness was huge in past 2k titles, but maybe it's only weighted 1/n for n stats out there.
Like Dwight could be a 97 or something because he fulfills the general standards of a center extremely well. It does not mean he has a 99 3 point shooting. 3 point shooting is just weighed very low for a center's overall play
Well obviously...but it means Dwight will dominate playing the way he's supposed to play. Obviously you aren't going to jack up a with Dwight, but you certainly could dominate playing as a Center with him, and that's where the ratings come into play. You have to play the way the players actually are meant to be played with, but the ratings certainly DO matter, and it's not a question.
That's what I thought too, he was rated lower last year, and he had a pretty bad year so I don't see how they raised it.
More great news for console players, Allen Iverson will be in 2k13. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/search/?q=%23NBA2K13"><s>#</s><b>NBA2K13</b></a> features dozens of legends including Shaq, Pippen & Allen Iverson!. I'm surprised. My problem with My Player is that it's too easy. I frankly don't WANT to be some guy putting up Wilt like numbers in his rookie year. I don't like it, and it feels completely unrealistic. But every My Player I've tried, it ends up like that. I find it incredibly frustrating.
Same here, won't play this mode again if they don't change the playing style/experience in drastic fashion.
Even on HOF, as a pg you can just call for a pick, get some space and hit open mid range j's every time (the first thing I do is increase shot med)
Well if that's the problem then how are they going to fix that? Hard cap every players stats to 50? That's no fun.
Make it harder to get open/improve AI without cheating. Doesn't bother me much. After I get my 30 points, I just start passing
We need working servers for that. 2k servers have been a mess for years now, even when we had crew mode it was nearly unplayable for lots of people. Same with leagues, their were playoffs bugs and everything. Right now I won't buy another Nba 2k if they don't fix all their errors, bugs and glitches.
The problem is that there is no alternative. NBA Live is a steaming pile of horse****, not enough to compete with 2K.
