I've noticed that every odd numbered one has the biggest increases in the game engine. 2k7 was my first, loved the post play in 2k9, I'd like to see a more realistic game of basketball played (calls being played, screens etc) as opposed to the arcade style, pick a player and go for 50+ pts in Dunks style of a game. Either way, 2k is my favorite sports series period.

I kinda feel the 2K series has become too realistic at times, what with its awesome gameplay, scalable complexity and a robust AI mimicking the halftime adjustments/learning curves of NBA defenses. For example: does NBA 2K make a trenchant commentary about the way NBA athletes are unfairly deified in modern culture (versus, say, the real heroes: all the teachers/firefighters)? In making that point, does NBA 2K ever provide an authentic recreation of the Redeemr overseeing Rio de Janeiro? After NBA LIVE 09, they went from the one button for layup, one button for dunk & one button for shot to the computer decides and blows it, I decided to jump ship to 2k. Worst problem with 2k12 is the turnover and speed, fast breaks get caught.
Download the live draft classes and you don't have to worry about all the rookies looking the same. I play an association and have all the guys in HS up to 2015. I wish they would do a better job with rookie names, like saying them in game. Also, I wish they talked about more things. 5 games played and I've heard every comment they have to make.
When will the CPU stop cheesing? I play solid defense for 24 seconds, and they nail a contested three no issue. I box out, only to have their point guard swoop in to get the offensive rebound.
There's been no information out, but it's developed by the studio that made NHL and they want to make it very realistic. Sounds pretty good. If they get it right I'll switch from 2k because their servers suck.
That video had me dying laughing. I love when the game does something stupid like that. On 2k12 I had John Wall floating over the backboard for a good 2 minutes before I finally had to call timeout.
Never thought I would do this, first year in as long as I can remember I won't be picking up 2k, or any game...it finally seems at the age where I jsut don't play game anymore
I haven't bought one since 2k11 (I tend to skip a year), but does 2k ever put out FIBA teams with the games? I know there are mods for PC, but I play on Playstation. I know it's a feature that some old editions of NBA Live used to have, but I've never seen an international option for 2k.
