I like this more and more....Ty can really give us a PG we have not had since Stevie Franchise......best back court in Houston History on paper anyway.

    Ty is one tier below...Curry, CP3, Westbrook...top 3.

Ty is in the group of Conley, Lillard, Irving, Wall..

I agree that Lawson is better, but it's pretty close actually.

    Work ethic: Rubio
    Character: Rubio
    3P%: Lawson
    2P%: Lawson
    FT%: Rubio
    Rebounding: Rubio
    Speed/quickness: Lawson
    ISO: Lawson
Fit w/ Rockets system (3s & Layups): Lawson
    Steals: Rubio
    Defense: Rubio
    IQ: Rubio
    Passing: Rubio
    Durability: Lawson

You could think of more categories, but it's pretty clear Lawson isn't a slam-dunk over Rubio. It's pretty close.

The only unnecessary category there was 'work ethic' not sure why you guys giving him a hard time.

I'd say you can lump work ethic and character into a category of "intangibles" or perhaps "Leadership"

I'm assuming IQ refers to bball IQ which is obviously a huge component of what makes average NBA athletes like Nash, Stockton, and CP3 competitive with skywalkers like Lilliard, Isiah, and Westbrook.

Not drivin fancy cars, I'm just starin at bars and about to lose my mind
So I get up to take a shower, funky toes are everywhere
Saw a trustee eatin more than me and I thought it wasn't fair
And it hurts right here, stuck in here for a year
I miss my girl and I miss my free world
I really miss my free world

Rubio has such great work ethic that he still can't shoot and hasn't gotten any better in 8 years as a pro.

How do you measure basketball IQ, Rubio hasn't won anything.

Lawson averaged 10 assists last season playing Wilson Chandler and Faried as his best offensive teammates.

Ok maybe I was being too harsh. I suppose I'm a known Rubio critic by this point. What is comes down to is that any look at the numbers shows Rubio to be one of the worst shooters in NBA history. That is not an exaggeration. You need more than a good work ethic to make up for that.

I don't disagree with your general premises that Lawson a better player than Rubio right now and by far a better fit for this currents Rockets squad.

Rubio with a jumpshot is unlikely something we'll ever see.

This Rubio bashing for not improving his shot -> and therefore not working is absurd.

Rubio wasn't even in a position to win anything, he was playing for a pretty bad team and wasn't even on the court for a good portion of that time.

If you removed Ty Lawson's off court issues I still don't think we could trade him, DMo, Jones, 2 first rounders, Capella, Dekker and McDaniels for any of those guys you mentioned. Thus, he's not in that tier. He's in a tier with Lowry/Dragic.

I think you could get Conley for that package, for sure. Not any of those other 3 guys though.

Curry, Rose (when healthy), CP3. John Wall, Kyle Lowry, Kyrie Irving are all better IMO.

I'd put Parker (when healthy), Lillard, Bledsoe, Dragic, and maybe Jrue Holiday equal or very close to Lawson in a second tier.
