I know he turned down more money in Toronto to stay in Houston, but can't you just let bygones be bygones. Surely Mo Pete can't be soooo bad that you have to dwell this much on one missed free agent signing. :p

The Raptors should be counting their lucky stars they didn't get Mobley.

He and Carter would be fighting each other for the ball.

Oakley would have been ripping on Mobley last season.

Derek Harper for yrs in Dallas and Ny. The sonics from 87-97. From McMillan,Ellis,X-Man, and Chambers to McMillan  ,Kemp, and Payton. Any pg the rockets used to and still play today since Rudy has been coach. After yrs of getting smoked on the pnr, anyone with sense would have thought Rudy would adjust the pnr defense by now.

This is how unknown he was... his name was Bill. :)

His co-hort Danny Schayes can be thrown into the list, as well. Those two would give Hakeem fits.

Anybody remember that stretch in Rockets history where if we couldn't stop 'em, we traded for 'em? lol! Such as :

    Mike Woodson
    Sleepy Floyd
    Purvis Short
Otis Thorpe (used to destroy us)

Derek Fisher - I swear, every bomb he throws up goes in when he plays the Rockets.

Kevin Johnson - Teaming up with Barkley, he made the Suns look like they had a Kobe&Shaq vs. the Rockets.

Robert Horry - Well, he does to us what he did for us. My once-favorite Rocket is now a killer on the despised foe.

...and I agree with ZRB's list...

    add

    Wesley Person
    Baron Davis
    Lamond Murray

I've never heard of Oscar Robinson. Was he as good as Oscar Robertson?

Rudy loves grabbing guys that have lit up the Rockets. Probably the reason he traded for Glen Rice.

    Cuttino
    Derek Harper
    Derek Mckey
KJ (as someone else put it, he could score 30-40 on us at will)
    GP
    Mcmillan
    Perkins

    Brent Price
    Macmoud Abdul Rauf
    Mitch Richmond
    Nate Mc Millan
    Dale Ellis
    Sedale Threat
    Sam Perkins (seattle and la)
    Scott Skiles
    Christian Laettner
(remember twolves and majic used to carve the rocks up)
    Bryant Stith
    Marc Jackson

Every 1,2,and 3 in the league.

Who was that big stiff Phoenix has that used to give Hakeem fits?
There were 2 of them. Also, that big stiff that used to camp out in the middle for utah?

    etc etc.

Rudy has very peculiar defensive sets. I think he wanted a funnel to hakeem, and hasn't ever adjusted. Aren't they the only team in the nba that guards the pick and roll by backing up?

Super-scrub Tony Dumas would absolutely obliterate the Rocks during the mid-90's. With the Mavs he averaged only about 8 or so points off the bench; but it seemed like he always put up 25 pts/7 boards/5 assists against the Rockets.

Popeye Jones of those Mavs teams would give us fits as well...

at last... a reason to contribute!!!

I remember Rony Seikaly beating every rock frontcourt player down the floor all game while playing for the Magic... fast break-jam, fast break-jam, fast break-jam.

I remember Rick Brunson with Portland starting in place of Rod Strickland ( or Kenny Anderson, memory's kinda foggy) and lighting up the rocks all game with inside-out stuff. Yes, Rick Brunson.

Hubert Davis had games with the Mavs when 3s were no more than a layup drill for him against the rocks.

This just in- fudge oreos make me sick.

As someone mentioned, the frustrating thing is, opposing players always have their career games against us. This can't be an accident.

Lamond Murray (of the Cavs! the Cavs!!!) just schooled us. Hmn, who else? Doesn't matter, everyone has a career game against the Rockets. Bad defense + dumbass constant playground chatter tends to really get our opponents' psyched up.
