Mt. Mutombo will be around for two more seasons after this.

Maybe its an attempt to get broke-asses into the seats at the Rockets-Wolves game.

I would rather slit my wrists than watch the wolves play.

The ceremony will consist of Les offering a plaque, Deke reaching out to accept it, and Hakeem swatting Deke's arm away, followed by the finger wave.

I never heard about it until yesterday when Bill said it during the game. I hope Deke comes back next season, but I'm sure it will depend on how far we go in the playoffs.

This definately seems like more of a marketing move than to fill seats against a crappy oponent. Any tribute to Deke should definately be with the Denver Nuggets consider how important he was to that franchise.

Last year when I saw the Rox playing the T-Wolves here in Minneapolis I went with a friend of mine who grew up in Denver and during the game he started chanting "We want Dikembe!"

If Yao can keep health in next season, uncle Muto may gain a champion ring.
I hope he change his decision.

Deke was always a rocket at heart. Without this...

(yes, I know that pic is from the 2nd championship, but I couldn't find anything from the first...which is actually quite sad :( )

deke has been great but he was stuck on the bench before yao went down. imo the rockets might be better off with a pf/c instead. perhaps someone like jeff foster if they can get him. that's a combination of size, rebounding, and defense the rockets just don't have at the 4.

Get Jeff Foster who makes 6 million but dont pay Landry? Yao and McGrady themselves add another 4 million to payroll next season. Scola and Landry figure to get better next year.

Point guard and size in the 2 guard/wing are needed more I think...

No one tells Uncle Mutombo when to go, he tells YOU.

D will not retire till he sees T-Mac and Yao getting the ring. He loves his teammates; He is thirsty to win the Championship together with his fellows. Next year is the time.
