I forgot about that. Gonna have to throw it on next time I head to the porch for a smoke.

Downloading Hernando by North Mississippi All-Stars and Death Cab For Cutie's latest as I post.

I like it more than the last two albums. If you're a Malkmus fan it won't disappointment.

Some of the songs extend the jams a little long, but even those songs have their moments. Definitely self-indulgent at times, but the band members are all pretty good musicians so the songs still work well despite the interludes. The shorter, more straightforward songs tend to be the best in my opinion.

My current trend is the Classic Rock 6-Pack. I used to do this in college- play the same 6 albums over and over again from the same group while studying until the wee hours of the morning. Yeah, weird- but it helped me remember subject matter, so you do whatcha gotta do. There are some groups that lend itself to the 6-pack because they either only had 6 studio albums (The Doors), 6 albums in a certain decade (Aerosmith in the 70s), or 6 recordings that represent their peak period (Queen- Night at the Opera through The Game). This week, it's The Doors:

    The Doors
    Strange Days
    Waiting For The Sun
    The Soft Parade
    Morrison Hotel
    L.A. Woman

Favorite Songs: Not to Touch The Earth, The End, Peace Frog, L.A. Woman, Texas Radio and the Big Beat, The Soft Parade, Love Me Two Times

THE BEST ROCK BAND OF THE NEW MELLENEIUM.

    Just sayin.

I also got to spin What Made Milwaukee Famous - What Doesn't Kill Us ... and it's a dam good rock album too.

I almost downloaded that one last night for the band name alone.

There's a podcast of one of their live performances over at NPR: All Songs Considered. Haven't listened to them at all and I dug their concert. Will be picking up the latest soon.

You could also do that with The Cars as I believe they only had 6 albums (studio although "Door to Door" was pretty crappy). But anyway, I like your idea and use something similar to get me through work days.

Right now, I am taking a break from listening to Dylan and Neil by listening to various songs by Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye.

Haha. Billy played Ready Steady Go at Numbers a few years ago when I saw him. It was neato.

I used to have the all Gen X records back in the day from the "import" section at the record store. That last album Kiss Me Deadly is one of my all-time my favs.
