....I do not understand how this video has 100 MILLION views on youtube I mean what the hell? I don't think videos for other recent pop songs even come close. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2tMV96xULk
It's because in other forums, people are posting this exact same question with a link for people to click to add to the views. I've never seen the video, and not really a big fan of his music.
This song gets overplayed on 95.7 (I should know, my daughters and I bet the entire Houston teenage group of listeners tune that station)... that's why. So... we're trying to figure out why the video has over 1 million views... did you even see the video?
Disposable music. It happens in steps: 1)find classic song. 2)Remix it with an 808 beat. 3)rap about shaking your booty. 4)song gets old and dies. 5)step 1)
dance music is whats "hot" these days. i'm not surprised that it has so many hits. lyrics come second now, if its catchy and has a nice beat, it's going to sell.
People who hate this song have probably have never heard it played in the club and gotten seduced (and pleasured) by a horny, beautiful lady to it. That's why they hate it. I mean who the hell listens to the lyrics? It's called a CLUB BANGER.
So you love the song because a girl did that to you? thats why you go to youtube and search the song to listen it? so you love all reggaeton, because girls loves to dance to that music?
Let me put it this way.. I have seen this video 30-40 times, and I still have no idea what the song talks about. I cannot remember a single word. When I read this thread title, I had to click on the video to know which song you were talking about. I did not realize that it is a re-made beat. I still don't know what Pitbull really looks like. I would not be able to help a police sketch artist. However, I can perfectly sculpt every one of the females in that video into beautiful statues.
aw this song is chill as heyl...!! not really I just really wanted to say that. didn't like the song the first time I heard it and haven't grown too much of a liking to it since. I'm the kind that don't really listen to lyrics as long as it has a good beat or music/melody. But damn this one is beyond saving..
I'm actually glad this was posted. After the Bob Seger thread weeks ago, I was looking up the catalog album charts. All the golden era favorites. Classics and household names that sold the most the last decade. Legends like Pink Floyd, Marley, The Beatles. AC/DC. Stones, Johnny Cash, Hendrix.. Then underneath all that, a section with most watched video of the year: Pitbull - I Know You Want Me I'm not a music purist or elitist in the LEAST bit. The contrast was too much. I listen to some BS, club bangers and everything. I have some real duds in my music collection. That song and performer outside of an excuse for latinas to shake their rump, I just DO not get. I remember him on Kimmel performing the same song, being promoted as the hottest thing out there. I just DO not get it.
