Nah. Real whistles, holmes. There was this clothes store in Baybrook Mall back in the day called Gadzooks that had this song on pretty much nonstop. There was also a girl there named Amber that I went out with a few times. I remember going back in after not being there for a few years, same song, same chick. It was weird.
If this thread had been expanded to "train whistle"....then the old timers really could have taken over.
Maybe not quite as many Medicare types as you think, but participation in this thread does tilt - skew towards the Wise Village Elders of Clutchfans. There is a music thread about Electronica - Synthwave (something like that) that has strong participation from a somewhat younger segment of Clutchfans. Most of the other music threads tend to have strong participation from the Wise Village Elders of Clutchfans.
I thought about train songs for this thread, but they tend to go with harmonicas to suggest a train rather than a train whistle.
