Had a chance to drive one of these today:

Got it wound up to about 160mph on tollway 130. White knuckle time, for sure. But man, what a rush!

So let's hear it: how fast is too fast for ClutchFans?

in a car probably only 120 or 130. High school after the car wash -- had no choice but to dry the car really well...

most airplanes get up to 200+ mph on the runway before the take off, but that probably doesn't count

72 mph, but then I got pulled over and vowed to never be so reckless ever again.

They sure are strict about drunk driving in school zones....

About 120. It was only for about 10-15 seconds though.

About 150 mph -- tunnel vision starts around 125 which is pretty cool.

145mph in my own car on University in Sugar Land. Grandma was very ill so I had to haul ass and get to the hospital in Greatwood.

Isn't there a speed limiter of a 155mph on the Lamborghini? I maxed out a R8 V10 a couple years later (155mph). I'm not exactly sure which cars have those limiters and which one doesn't.

145 or so on my 350Z before the limiter kicked in.

If there is, I'm guessing they found a way to disable/circumvent it. My co-driver said he'd gotten it up near 190 before.

130 back when I had my v6:( charger and 135-140 on my motorcycle (R6). 100 on a motorcycle feels like 300, scary ****.

    152 on the beltway.

Car felt like it was going to shake to pieces. I was stupid as hell to do it and will never do it again.

Somewhere between 130-145 in my S5. I lost my nerve about 5 seconds, and brought it back to down to around 90 though.

In Houston, on Westpark and Hardy Toll Road, 155 mph. Only for a limited time, with a spotter, and when there were no other cars around.

In Germany, 155 mph. Although when a friend lived there, I drove her car to about 190 mph.

In the US in general, 155 mph on various open stretches in Kansas, Montana, and Wyoming. However, I hit 170 mph on the way to Marfa. Since this was on a motorcycle, it felt the fastest and scariest.

*All these speeds were by various German cars and a few motorcycles. Unfortunately, I've never driven any Italian cars at these speeds.

170 on I-45 about 11-12 years ago in a buddy's corvette. Dumbest thing I've ever done but daaaamn. At about 140 every five mph you go up feels like an additional 25mph.

Isn't the point of improving the suspension to go faster?
