It was a little more because he was mysterious at first and then revealed to be almost suicidal and completely diabolical. He became that way because of his loss. He was willing to do things a sketch CIA agent wouldn't in a room without cameras. It's why I liked it more than the tired revenge plot.
Save yourself the time and money, watch the marvel trailer and just skip the movie. Its the same repeated storyline anyways.
good point. It's a well directed version. sequels don't work because after a while you get tired of new characters for the monster to care about and it just devolves into the spectacle of murder.
Interview with the director: https://uproxx.com/movies/sicario-day-of-the-soldado-stefano-sollima-interview/ ...and the first Death Wish was awesome.
69% on RT and 63 on meta critic, sounds like it's a solid sequel. Checking it out this weekend, so curious to see for myself......
Nice interview. So the controversial pistol-firing move was Benicio's idea. Interesting. I wonder if people still want to write off the whole movie based on that one detail, LOL.
I wasnt a fan of the pistol thing but Im not writing the movie off, just not gonna watch it in theaters until more reviews come out, might just wait til dvd. Also, I dont think it matters where the idea came from; sometimes a coach/director has to say "shut the the hell up, were not doing that!"
I've only said it 15 times if I've said it once, anyone that judges a movie from the trailer is a.....
Caught it this weekend, solid sequel but it's not as good as the original. Some of the sequences are really impressive and thrilling, one in particular is rather brutal..... The last act is the films biggest issue, it really loses a lot of momentum and just kind of ends..... B- from me......
Yeah, this movie is pretty incredible actually. I think it's going to hold up over time. Way over the top, but wow does it have some incredible moments. Much better than the trailers would have led you to believe.
