Looks good. Not sure I am sold on seeing it in the theatre yet, but I'll definitely watch.

Why do trailers have mini-trailers for the trailer in front of the trailer? Give me back my 5 seconds, f******* f******!

    Well, I saw it.

The movie doesn't make a lot of sense.... but there's some enjoyable elements of you can sufficiently shut your brain off.

It's not a sequel I needed or even wanted but it's worth watching for free someday when it gets to streaming services if you're bored enough.

Top Gun meets Mission Impossible is how I’d describe. Solid all around action movie.

It will be on Paramount Plus by Mid-July, most likely.

Dude...they said the movie was badass and you come at us with this? Get with the program. You're supposed to fall in line and brag about how great it is.

I truly don't understand some of the reviews the movie is getting, but I'm glad for people who somehow really enjoyed it.

I think for me the problem was

just how many times people absolutely died in the movie....but they just pretend like they didn't. Hell the titular character ABSOLUTLEY dies within the first 20 minutes of the movie starting. You can't ****ing eject from a jet going Mach 10, there's not a scenario where he survives the 7500+ mph winds he'd face upon ejecting....and he wouldn't survive that jet hitting the ground at those speeds either.....so he's definitely dead. Also a lot of the BS he pulls while "training" at Top Gun would have almost certainly killed everyone involved.

The non-spoiler version, this is basically on the same level of ridiculousness as you'd expect from a recent Fast & Furious movie. I guess I went in expecting some small amount of realism. Perhaps I'd feel different if I went in with different expectations....knowing it was going to be a ludicrous clown show.

I'm 100% positive there isn't a storyline in there where Goose's son hates Maverick early on blaming him for his father's death. Then, by the end, Maverick is like Goose's son's surrogate father. Like I said, 100% positive. ;)

I can neither confirm or deny such an allegation......but IF it were in there, while completely ridiculous and unbelievable, it would be one of the more realistic and believable parts of the entire movie.

I enjoy Tom Cruise movies quite a bit but was never high on Top Gun. I’ll stream this one day.

Another thing I found weird was

the use of F-18's and the talk about "5th generation fighters"....the US had the very first "5th generation fighter", the F-35 and in a stealthy type mission such as the one they are doing in the movie, that would literally always be the jet of choice because it would be better for that mission in essentially every way than the F-18. It's stealthy, more maneuverable, and more technologically advanced in pretty much every way.

Sorry, posted in another thread also, thought it was great. 9 out of 10. This and the lastest Ghost Buster's sequel were high on fan service, which I don't have a problem with

Every one of these reboot/remakes uses the old theme song but played slowly on a piano.
