    Just based on the previews, this is a movie I have zero intension of ever seeing.

    Saw it and thought it sucked. The little girl in the lead role was freakin TERRIBLE. I got annoyed everytime she stepped into the picture. I never read the books, maybe that would have helped. The only scene I liked was the polar bear fight (which was pretty freakin graphic for a kids movie, it kind of shocked me).

    Ive read both series. In my opinion: Chronicles of Narnia > His Dark Materials.

    In all truth, I HATED His Dark Materials book 3. Took me forever to actually soldier through it. Garbage until the last 25 pages. Just one mans opinion, though.

    Fortunately, the His Dark Materials books are being adapted into a television series on BBC. Here's to hoping they don't butcher the source material like this terrible movie did.

    No word yet on casting or anything, but I was happy to hear that this was happening. I think all they've done is hire a writer so far. Pullman will be a producer.
