just saw it... snoke is actually obi wan (we never really saw him die, just disappeared) and rey is an elf.
you'd be happy to know the space nun and flying gerbils are insignificant in this movie, cept for one scene where they hint that they are Luke's love interest.
you brehs need to hurry and watch this already so we can talk about it here... especially with no spoilers. i will say this tho... they mess with you throughout the movie, you dunno who's who, what's what... it's like a perpetual love-hate relationship. they need to quit playin..
can someone start a separate star wars thread with spoilers so we can discuss it without having to spoiler tag? maybe heypee breh?
I enjoyed it. There's a lot of meta misdirection throughout. My main beef is that there's a fair amount of what felt like anachronistic dialog and general flippancy, but they did some of that in the last movie as well. I felt like the originals had a little more genuine heart, but maybe the times have just changed. Need some time to stew on it, but I think it was good.
I don't get the great reviews this movie is getting. So many plot holes and unnecessary characters. For god sake, there's a wasted 30 minutes short film in the middle of this movie. This film should be 60-70% on RT. Get ready to be disappointed. They Transformered Star Wars where the only thing that was good are the action scenes.
I don’t agree with the others who have already posted. For awhile I thought that I might be mildly disappointed, but then the final forty minutes or so really took off. There were some definite surprises; I give the director credit for taking some risks. I suspect many fans will not. I just hope they aren’t too many of the same people who complained of TFA playing it too safe.
Love love loved it. Easily the best Star Wars film of the 21st century. I was a little bit worried about Mark Hamil’s ability to play a weathered Luke, but man did he show up. Last Jedi did a great job of steering the franchise in a new direction while still paying homage to oldies. Like others mentioned, lots of meta misdirection.
