In the comics Spiderman has been shot. Recently his body has been taken over by Doc Octopus and became Superior Spiderman with Peter Parker's mind trapped inside while Doc runs the show using Peter's body. Spiderman is really strong. Like he's knocked the Hulk into outer space with one of his punches. In the comics he significantly holds back on his strikes on opponents lest he decapitate them which Doc Oc has done as Superior Spiderman to random henchmen.
Lol Heroes more powerful than Spidey (in no order): 1: Hulk 2: Thor 3: Wolverine 4: Sentry 5: Hercules 6: Silver Surfer 7: Capt Marvel 8: Franklin Richards (this guys prob top 3 in the MU) 9: Odin 10: Quasar 11: Hyperion 12: Vulcan 13: Scarlett Witch 14: Black Bolt 15: Jean Grey 16: Cable 17: Dr Strange 18: Adam Warlock 19: Vision 20: Professor X 21: Nate Grey 22: Skaar 23: Gladiator 24: Wonder Man 25: Blue Marvel 26: Nova 27: Namor 28: Nightcrawler 29: Hope Summers 30: Magik 31: Iceman I don't see him defeating Quicksilver, Jean Grey (non Pheonix), Iron Man, Mr Fantastic (one of the highest IQs in MU), Ant Man, Rogue, Emma Frost, or Black Panther either. That's a long list, Spidey can at most take over a city. The MU is full of Planet, Solar System & Galaxy busters. Just imagine if I included villains and neutral entities (Eternity, Death, LT) ... he wouldn't even be top 100.
That was Cosmic Spiderman vs regular Hulk, you put Hulks strongest variation against Spidey & it will never be a contest. I love Spidey, but he's vastly overrated.
Someone asked why he hasn't been shot. Spidey-sense was the answer. Someone asked why he isn't strong. He actually is relative to his size. That's why in the movies it was such a big deal for him to clench the punch of the Winter Soldier in Captain America 2. I don't think anyone is arguing about his power relative to the rest of the Marvel universe except you. You're trying to create an argument out of nothing but your own conjecture yet no one is participating.
How am I the only one talking when someone replied to me? I merely commented my opinion, someone disagreed & pointed out why i believe they're wrong. It's not like I replied to every single poster in the thread. Lol either way that's fine, it's a forum. People look to engage in conversation. Wasn't trying to be a dick about it.
I came across as a dick with my post. I understand you were just trying to keep the conversation going. Your list is a pretty good one and I agree with Franklin Richards being top 3 if not at the top.
All good man. Yeah, sucks that it'll probably be a while before we see a good adaption of him since the F4 franchise hasn't been great to say the least.
Is it just me or does it seem the run up to this film is a bit quiet by Marvel standards? I think we may have a dud on our hands.
It might be a good movie. Certainly they're getting Robert Downey Jr. to prop it up. Along with (to a lesser extent) a more age-believable Aunt May. And Keaton makes a good villain. But three actors as Parker, even though you do have to keep him somewhat teenager-ish (a doughy middle-aged Tobey Maquire in spandex? nope; time to move on), this second re-incarnation might have dampened enthusiasm a bit (although they nearly killed it all with the third "Sandman / Venom" film, so the fact that it has a pulse at all is good).
It might have to do something with whatever they worked out with Sony. It's possible Sony might stand to gain more out of this single movie than Marvel, but Marvel makes up for it by adding Spider Man to the other films and other merchandise. Who knows....
This. I am pretty sure Marvel gets only merchandising, where the real money from the movie is made. Spider-man-the T-shirt, Spider-man-the Coloring Book,Spider-man-the Lunch box, Spider-man-the Breakfast Cereal, Spider-man-the Flame Thrower.
