Scott Pilgrim was my favorite movie of the summer. Tied with Kick-Ass for favorite movie of year. This hasn't been the greatest year for movies.
I finally saw this movie last night. Wow. Absolutely awesome. I can't think of one thing I didn't like. I went into it thinking 'I'm too old to relate to this crap', but it won me over in about two minutes. I can't think of another movie I've liked more since the original Matrix. Great comedy, fight scenes, the comic/video game graphics just work. Extremely quotable. Awesome flick. I must own it now.
I was re-watching last night as well. I forgot how much I liked this movie. EDIT - Target has it on BluRay for sale this week.
The movie is great and even better if you've read the comic. It's the first movie that I've seen that looked almost exactly like the comic.
I saw it for the first time this week, so interesting this thread popped up. I really liked it, but wasn't blown away. There was nothing intriguing to me really about the storyline itself. Michael Cera was good as usual... BUT, then kind of once you seen him once, you get his deal. Again, that's not necessarily a horrible thing, but ultimately it starts to get a tad repetitive (see Will Ferrell as a recent example). All of the 7 ex's also were very stereotypical to their character or the way they've acted historically. Chris Pine played a satirical version of characters he always plays. Schwartzman, even as a "bad guy", again, was in a role perfectly in his range (which seems to be consistently similar characters). What makes it enjoyable, clearly is the way it was presented graphically, with interesting cinematography, cgi effects, etc. It's one of the most unique movies you'll ever see in that regards, and uniquely great in that way (as opposed to unique and horrible). So that, combined with average but not unenjoyable story and acting, makes it worth the watch and something I'd see again for sure.
This movie is awesome . The Matrix blew my mind. I was in the 8th grade, but it is still my favorite sci-fi action flick. Nice to see I agree with one of my favorite posters.
it was to me (since I don't have HBO). something being interesting is entirely subjective... so, yeah, thanks for adding to the discussion!
A fun film but didn't think it altogether worked. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is always easy on the eyes.
Re-watched this on Netflix last night. Stands up. Absolute gem. If you haven't caught it yet, take a look. It's now considered a cult classic and the 29m DVD/Blu-Ray sales almost eclipsed the 31m box office take. 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. Also, Captain America, Superman AND Captain Marvel are in it.
We are Sex Bob-omb! We're here to make you think about death and get sad and stuff! Don't forget Beck wrote most of the original music. Other than the Metric cover.
