Machete Kills is an upcoming action exploitation film, written and directed by Robert Rodriguez.[3] It is the second in a series that started with the 2010 film Machete (presaged by a fake trailer in Grindhouse). Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, and Michelle Rodriguez, will be reprising their roles from the first film, and are joined by series newcomers Sofía Vergara, Demián Bichir, Amber Heard, Antonio Banderas, Zoe Saldana, Edward James Olmos, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding Jr., Alexa Vega, William Sadler, Marko Zaror, Lady Gaga with Charlie Sheen[3] and Mel Gibson. The film will follow the titular ex-federale (Trejo) as he is recruited by the US President (Sheen) to stop an arms dealer (Gibson) from launching a deadly missile.[3] On October 18, 2012 Open Road Films picked up U.S. distribution rights to Machete Kills <a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/841/machetekillspromoposter.jpg/'><img src='http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/8779/machetekillspromoposter.jpg' border='0'/></a><br> <a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/525/sneakpeeksofiavergarama.jpg/'><img src='http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/5194/sneakpeeksofiavergarama.jpg' border='0'/></a><br> Sophia Vergara <a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/171/10201352386960.jpg/'><img src='http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8657/10201352386960.jpg' border='0'/></a><br> Alexa Vega <a target='_blank' title='ImageShack - Image And Video Hosting' href='http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/853/machetekillsamberheardd.jpg/'><img src='http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/1971/machetekillsamberheardd.jpg' border='0'/></a><br> Amber Heard Currently shooting in and outside of Austin, anyone else looking foward to it? I personally enjoyed the first one quite a bit for what it was, looking foward to the second one!
The first 5-10 minutes of the first one were amazing. After that, it slowed down way too much. They need to ham it up more and make it even more insane. I'll probably see this one eventually though.
From what I've been hearing it seems like it'll be less of a trudge, last one was kind of stuck having to fit plot points from the original faux trailer, think they'll let loose this go around.
agreed .. the movie lost a lot of steam after the first 15 mins.. but i will watch any movie with Jessica Alba even though it was a body double.
looks like kam is in. also, i lol'ed at cuba gooding jr in the cast. i'm down for this flick. enjoyed the first though the ending was lame. tried way to hard to go over the top of the top.
yea it's like a Mexican kungfu movie but not as cool.. but still a fun movie and trashy Lindsey Lohan's boobs
I wanted to see the first movie but I am not even sure it was released where I live. I'm guessing that will be the same with this one.
No. He has this minstrel take on Mexican that he wants to pass off as real Mexican. It stereotypical adolescent trash. His first film was fun but he's been making the same movie since. One would think he wouls grow as an artist and story teller but no.... same sh-t. Plus, he cheated on and divorced his wife of 15yrs & mother of seven children with Rose McGowen. Not that it's my business what he does in his personal life but since I don't like his movies and hate their whole "Mexican" act, its just more reason to dislike him. He's the Carlos Mencia of film directors.
I was unable to sit through the first one for whatever reason. I can't even review it because I just can't watch it for some reason. I guess it starts with the movie title. I don't like it. It wasn't marketed to me in such a way that said I need to watch this movie. I just assumed it was a blood and guts mindless machete slasher flick. Is it not?
More offended by people who actually think Taco Bell is real Mexican food than anything Robert Rodriguez has done....
Why do we even think RR is Mexican? He uses Antonio Banderas... Guillermo del Toro is actually FROM Mexico, more Mexican than RR, and he doesn't make "Mexican" movies... but I will agree that GdT is way better than RR. Pan's Labyrinth? Hellboy? No match for RR aside from the Spy Kids movies... and they're not all that good, either.
