It certainly is better than all the others in the series.

Watched it last night, the Rock was awesome and seeing him with Vin diesel on the screen together made me want to work out.

The action scenes were solid but there was one chase scene early in the movie I wish were longer.

No street racing at all, there was one race, had the potential for 3 races but they chose not to even show them.

i enjoyed it, was surprised it was getting good reviews and lived up to the hype for me. As mentioned, don't expect any street racing, kinda sucked the one I was looking forward to, they didn't even show it.

Curious to see how The Rock's character's spin off movie is going to be like.

We tried to go to the late showing in Lufkin and it was sold out. I was like wtf....

Although there were a lot of ricers out in the parking lot.

Kinda far for Rice University alumni to go watch Fast Five, but whatever floats their boat I guess.

They really don't make many action movies like this anymore. Being an action movie of course it's gonna have plotholes, but the story was still pretty good and it and the characters had a nice enough level of complexity to make you vested. Combine that with some slight (but not over-the-top) humor, some insane action sequences and Vin Diesel/The Rock beating the hell out of each other and you have a recipe for a successful summer film.

I only wish we could have gotten something like this out of Stallone on the expendables.

I haven't seen 4 yet, but of the ones I've seen... Fast Five >> Tokyo Drift > The Fast and the Furious >>>>> 2 Fast 2 Furious.

    dammit, what did I miss?

btw, big props for Justin Lin, he's come along way since he had his director debut of "Better Luck Tomorrow" from back in 2003. Highly recommend to give it a watch if you haven't seen it yet. He's one of the up and coming directors since he's attached to the next Terminator with Arnold.

Ditto what everyone else says. This was awesome for what it is. Fast Five is the best, but the original will always have a soft spot in my heart.
