I think Catwoman's going to be the villain and The Riddler won't be in it. In fact, that's as it should be probably. But I'm still rooting for my friend Jim Parsons to play The Riddler in a Nolan-directed Batman just because it would be so incredible to have a friend in a role like that. I actually have another friend who was fairly prominently featured in the boat scenes of TDK, but he only had like one line. Having a friend play a major villain would be incredible.
More than likely, Almighty God Nolan will create a new villain so devious, so sinister, so pure evil it will make Darth Vader, Hannibal Lecter, Anton Chigurh, and The Joker from TDK look like The Golden Girls.
Please don't. Pray for her to do a solo p*rn or something, but don't pray for her to ruin the next installment of this awesome series with her terrible acting. Nolan has set a precedent for high quality actors in these films giving strong performances. Casting a dud of an actress like Scarlet for a lead role would be a disaster.
It's a real shame that some of the great batman villains were completely ruined by the mid-90s iterations...
I don't think Nolan will be held back by the mid 90s interpretations, I think he'll be held back by his lack of a desire for "cartoon" type villains. No Mr. Freeze, no Poison Ivy, no Killer Croc, etc. Bane could be done I would think.
Eww Carrot Top. *Vomits* I loved loved Angels in the Outfield. I watched it all the times and I didn't know that Matthew McConaughey was in it. Just read that the reps for JGL denied the reports of him being the Riddler.
The casting grid from the studio is confirming the Riddler for Batman 3. JGL is listed as interested. I think with Comic Con coming up, Riddler is a go. http://www.nolanfans.com/2010/07/21/casting-grid-reveals-riddler-listed-as-batman-3-villian/
It doesn't even matter, he can play Arthur in Batman 3 and that would be fine by me. Have all his scenes in a turning hotel.
Think he'd fit better as the Mad Hatter which I could never see being done as a live action character.
The Riddler always seemed like a lesser version of the Joker. Both villians modus operandi are to make Batman solve puzzles with deadly choices. I think Poison Ivy would be an interesting choice as an environmental extremist. It could raise a lot of interesting political and moral questions for a villian who is the opposite of the Joker. She doesn't want to see the World burn but is completely convinced she is saving it. Here's another twist. Following the ending of the Dark Knight what if the villian is Commissioner Gordon who has to hunt Batman and bring him to the law.
