Oh they're back. I left my back door open last night for about an hour (foster puppies needed to go in and out to handle their business) and I ended up killing 25+ that all congregated in the kitchen. I'm sure that wasn't even half of the total that drifted in. At least they were not the giant ones but I'm sure those are coming next. I expect fleas will be a nightmare this year too. Last year was the worst I've seen and I'm sure this mild winter didn't do anything to thin them out for this year. You know what else is back? The freaking wasps.
Wipe a fabric softener like Bounce all over exposed skin and you will avoid getting bit by them. You're welcome!
They mosquitos haven't made their way up here to Austin yet thankfully but, man, I just got my kids back from them spending spring break down in the Houston area with their grandparents, and my son is all bitten up.
Humans? Cats? Slugs? There is no such thing as a useless animal. Even yap-hounds and miniature donkeys have a purpose.
Unless there's a different "use" other than "being food for animals of actual use," mosquitoes are definitely useless.
