Most Chinese and Indian can't even read beyond perhaps a 1st grade level. Are you seriously implying they know someone known for Theory of Relativity?

He should only count if you consider people recognizing Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, etc.

If you show somebody a picture of Walt Disney, they'd be like, who is that?

You're getting into the territory of "who is more influential", rather than "who is more famous".

You would be surprised how many Chinese knows Hitler. He was study material during cultural revolution and they teach about him in history classes. China provide free nine year education.

    Wife said JFK.

Chaplin? This poll must skew generational.

I think you underestimate the education level of China. You do not need to know much about science to know Einstein. When people say you are smart, they say you are Einstein in China, just like here in the US.

I don't think so. I think most people would know Disney as a brand name for cartoons than an actual person.

I don't think you need to be educated to really know Hitler or Einstein. People in third world countries might not know the theory of relativity, but I'd guess they know Einstein "as some smart dude".

Everybody and their mom and their mom's mom should know Hitler.

There is no way JFK is known worldwide. That is also one reason I didn't put Eisenhower or FDR on the list. Think Stalin goes out of the window for the same reason.

Almost 80 years after he was first "elected" and the b*stard is still getting votes
When I do good, no one remembers. When I do bad, no one forgets.

And let's not forget he was all over you tube a couple of years ago.

Sorry man but I have to disagree, If I remember correctly learning about Hitler and what he did had a bigger impact on me(emotionally), speacially with the photos of the camps, its just saddening, Einstein is close but unfortunately not every body is in to science to get the credit he deserves as oppose to the great history horror tale behind an evil man... Adolf Hiltler

Hitler is/was not as well known in Asia. What Hitler did not effect Asia. China lost 20 million to the hands of the Japanese, and then lost more during the communist revolution.

He might not have effected Asia directly much, but Hollywood and just basic general knowledge would say that pretty much all Chinese and Indians know Hitler.

honestly i hope its hitler and that he is always remembered for the atrocities that were committed so that future generations never do something like that ever again and that we never see another man or woman like him ever again.

i hope we see more people like Mother Theresa, MLK and Gandhi
