This has been stated multiple times. Lin's contract wasn't guaranteed while Flynn's was. Adrien was kept because he was just another big body that could fill in if a big went down. I was on the lin side, but I understood why he was cut.
I think, no I KNOW, Lowry is better than Lin. Good thing kobe isn't an owner because he would suck as one.
First, this comment is more about Kobe than Lin. Kobe's still mad about being passed up and he's using Lin's situation to attack the GMs who passed him up. And second, it's funny, since Kobe himself brushed off what Lin was doing like he hadn't proven anything. If he's really seeing something in Lin now, where was it then? Why didn't Kobe see it, when initially asked? I don't buy that a hoops junkie like him hadnt been paying attention to it. At all.
yeah that makes sense. trade a potential all-star because you got flynn, bwhwhwahwah - we don't need all-stars on this team we got flynn's guaranteed contract to deal with.
How is this even debatable? It's pretty much common sense. In the deal all three teams agreed upon, the Rockets would have sent Dragic over. Next up on the depth chart: Jeremy Lin. Obviously, they believed Jeremy was good enough to back up Kyle Lowry. Stern vetoed the trade, and the Rockets were forced to cut someone. They should've cut Flynn, but that's besides the point.
Kobe has a great point, DM and KM should have seen it coming, that is what their job is, they are in a position of looking to improve the team, of finding guys that can play in the league. You can't let a guy like this just walk while keeping deadwood around, not just Flynn and Thabeet, and Twill but also Adrien. There are no excuses here, none, you keep the talent if you are tyring to win, and if you are ABLE TO RECOGNIZE NBA TALENT. Maybe they aren't that good at that after all. DD
This forum is in love with damn near every man that is borderline to make the roster so that isn't saying much.
If Lin was kept, he'd have got no playing time and Morey would be answering "why did you cut a guaranteed contract for a non guaranteed one" And i can assure you, that is something that would get you fired, Les has the money, but giving away a million dollars for no reason doesn't make anyone happy.
how is that stupid.. EVERY team passed on him in the draft, EVERY team refused to sign him before rockets did, EVERY team refused to sign him after the rockets cut him.. you dont miss on a person just bc you cut them, you also miss on them when they are there for the taking and you dont take them. portland missed out on durant bc they didnt draft him, teams missed out on guys like brady etc bc they didnt draft them not bc they cut them. kobe needs to keep his yap shut, he was the same dude who was punking lin just a week ago saying he doesnt knwo who he is etc . whatever hypocrite
