I just love that the Clippers signed him. They're no smarter than the people on this board who say, "Hey, I just saw Player X have a great game against us -- let's get him on our team!" And then later you realize that it was the best game of Player X's life. Eat it, Doc.

Doc the GM somehow had no idea what Josh Smith was like as a player, and now Doc the coach is suffering for it.
Smith is exactly the same player he was with us and with Detroit. I'm not sure who's stupider, him for choosing the Clippers or the Clippers wanting him in the first place. I would still trade Jones for him, we could probably get a draft pick back as well and a little cap breathing room. I don't like Jones, not even a little bit, he's not an NBA rotation player IMO and he's a FA. I don't love Smith either, but for all of his warts he seems to function as a capable rotation player with us, something I don't consider Jones. Ideally I would like to add a PF that is better than both of them, but Smith seems like an upgrade that can be had. Again this is much more about how low my opinion of Jones is as a player than liking Smith. Jones overall absentmindedness kills us.
The thing I like about Smith when he was here is he carried the second unit on his back, and that's what he's good for with his skill level and efficiency. He can be a "franchise player" on the second unit, dominating the other team's second unit. However, I do not want to help the Clippers by giving them Jones for Smith. It's a good trade for both teams, but it improves them more than it improves us. They need a 40% shooter at the backup 4. We don't need Josh Smith if Lawson can get acclimated quickly.
No way. This team already has full of low IQ players. Josh Smith is one the most overrated player in the league and I knew he wasn't going to last long with the clippers.

love it. both sides are idiots to even think this was a good signing from the beginning. they're getting what they both deserve
