No he basically said that Harden was concerned and serious about 'defense' when we know he's not. And if he's so adamant about winning a championship why keep McHale as head coach? McHale basically hampered a possible championship team last season with his lousy coaching.

Man, that pisses me off. If I was Parsons I'd be pissed. The defensive problems start with coaching. That's obvious. Even Morey knows that. You cant fix everything with transactions.

He wasn't calling out Parsons. He was calling out our perimeter defense.

Ariza will be an upgrade in that regard.

Total BS. Harden has been called out by McHale for his effort both on the floor and in the press.

You choose to ignore it or say he is lying if you don't like what he says.

McHale says he called for a different plan than what was run on Lillard: He's lying! he's stupid!

People kill McHale for the Harden late game heroball. McHale comes out and says he has called for different things but Harden ignores him: Blah blah blah!

He can't force Harden to do a damn thing he doesn't want to do. So the choice is do you think you can get away with Harden's defense by putting better players around him or just dump him?

Dirk gives you nothing on defense either. You know how the Mavs won a title? Covering that up.

But the team is a downgrade overall and lost the big cap too, that is a very bad news for the smart fans.

Lost the big cap? We still have cap room. We wouldn't if we kept Parsons.

You're the one that finds one Chandler Parsons every seven years Morey.

That is BS too. If you are a coach, then your player refuses to listen to you, so you either let him listen to you, or get rid of the player, and finally quit your coaching job because you are really not good.. What else should you do?

Dirk doesn't play defense. Should Rick Carlise quit? Should they get rid of Dirk?

Shaq wouldn't guard the pick n roll like Phil constantly told him too. Should he have quit? Should they have dumped Shaq instead of winning 3 titles?

I think some of you just have no idea what is really going on. Read a book written by a coach and read how many clashes they have with star players who simply refuse to do what the coach tells them to.

Kevin Love refuses to stay at his defensive assignment because he wants a rebound. Iverson refused to what Larry Brown wanted. Deron Williams clashed with Jerry Sloan. Kobe clashed with Phil Jackson.

How can ppl buy into this stupid quote You have to also be able to get that player for a 1 yr 1 mil contract when you have the chance. Morey is obviously just trying to cover himself in this situation and not admitting he screwed up by making Parsons a RFA. As much as I believe in Morey he def choked on this one.

I don't think Morey is covering himself at all.

He's pretty honest with his answers. I'm sure he would tell you that he wishes he could have Parsons for year $1 million. He gambled on RFA and lost.

exactly.....how can you have a franchise player who's a total 0 on that end of the floor?? You could overlook it if he just carries you offensively like Dirk did all the way to ta title. But last year it was Jeremy Lin saving the team in one elimination game and game 6 it was going down low to Dwight Howard every single time down the stretch.

Daryl Morey: "The teams that find the Chandler Parsons, not the ones that pay them the max, are the ones that succeed long term"

here's a little of what he said

Said the front office knows they can't win next year. They are playing for next year's free agency. Says Morey cares more about what hes going to do in July than winning games this year.

Mentioned Parsons will keep getting better. Ariza is a decent player, said he plays well in his contract years. Very inconsistent. Rockets bench is very thin.. Mentioned you have to stick with your squad. Rockets are trying to get a big name free agent every year, but have only hit the jackpot once (Dwight Howard).
