No way. Me and my friend have come to the conclusion that Morey is playing hardball with Von just the same way he did it with Landry. Jermaine Taylor was this year's version of Joey Dorsey. Just watch those negotiations pick up right around late August in the same way. It's a much bigger gamble this time since Wafer is an UFA but still, he remains our best option at the backup wing and I bet Morey still wants him.
Yes,indeed. They are unhappy with him,and probably would only take him back for the minimum it seems.
Rich Lord is good when it comes to the Rockets and Texans. I cant blame him for not watching an Astros game. I wouldnt be able to watch an inning. Its John Lopez and his buddy Ted who sound like they dont know much about anything.
Not sure, but I keep hearing it. Maybe a 2-1 trade or something similar as in your trading out McGrady and your bringing back multiple pieces as you're not likely to get a one-one swap for McGrady. Maybe not McGrady but just keeping a spot open in a 2-1, 3-1,etc. player swap.
Morey insists that only one of Wafer, Budinger, Taylor, and White will get a wing rotation spot. Despite his performance in SL, Dorsey still seems to be a bit of a long shot to be a regular rotation guy (or maybe Morey is being tough on him as a motivational tactic). What sort of rotation is he envisioning? Assuming no T-Mac, no significant trades, and a 9-man core rotation: 1 - Brooks - Lowry 2 - Ariza - [Budinger/Taylor/Wafer/White] - [Brooks] 3 - Battier - [Ariza] - Budinger/Taylor/Wafer/White 4 - Scola - Landry - [Battier] - [Hayes] 5 - Hayes - Andersen - [Scola] At this stage, I would predict Hayes starting to begin the season. That could be reversed, pretty easily.
Dorsey's contract is guaranteed though, I believe, so he will be on the roster. My guess, currently: Brooks - Lowry Battier - Taylor/Lowry Ariza - Budinger/Taylor Scola - Landry/Dorsey Andersen - Hayes/Dorsey I see Dorsey and Taylor being fringe rotation players (only used if someone's in foul trouble). I don't see James White making the squad, quite honestly.
I think Von Wafer is the better choice if it comes down to those two. With Wafer we know his potential. Chase could end up as not being able to make it in the NBA at all. At least with Von we know that he can be productive. He showed signs of being able to improve with his passing and ball movement. It isn't that he doesn't still have a ways to go in that area and definitely with his defense but we know that he does have some real value.
If Morey wants that open spot then why did he spend millions on 47 2nd rounders? Such a girl move! Packing too much on a 2-day trip.
Proven what?? that out of all the 5 teams he was on all 5 of them don't want him back?? Proved that he knows how to keep his seat hot because he didn't sniff the floor 4 out of his 5 teams?? Proved that he is bigger than what he is?? The man finally had ONE magical season and guys think he is the answer. Gosh if all it takes if for someone to put the ball in the basket then everyone is the answer for the Rockets. Von needs to go and I'm glad they won't sign him.
It's not his money. It just gives him more options, and Les (sorry ... Mr. Alexander ) is willing to spend for him.
You could die on a 2 day trip through the woods if you lose your backpack or don't have enough food or water. Morey got two wing players and a point guard just in case A) we lose both Ron, Von and can't land a FA to put at the 2 or B) they had to trade Brooks off. So far, it isn't that bad of a move. Although now comes the hard part of trimming the fat off the roster. It isn't looking good for White.
