I thought this was working since this summer.
So is the sign-and-trade with Goran another option?
Do you see plausible scenarios under this situation that could help the Rockets?

Dragic's girlfriend's PER is off the charts. Good +/-, too.

We can sign&trade Dragic, but chances are we won't, as there's no benefit for players to ask for a sign&trade anymore (raises and # of years are the same).

The only reason we might be able to do a sign&trade deal would be if Dragic wants to play for a team that's over the cap or a team that hasn't enough cap room to sign Dragic to what he's looking for.

Most teams that will be in the Dragic hunt however will have enough cap space (Blazers, Raptors, Pacers, etc...).

essentially removes all incentive from a sign and trade AFTER next year. so we still have a window of opporunity for 2012-13.

Actually, the salary difference (in terms 4 vs. 5 years and 4.5 vs. 7% increase) in S&Ts are already gone. If the Rockets are to S&T Dragic to another team, the contract can only be for 4 years and with 4.5% increase. What comes into effect AFTER next year is the part about not allowing tax-paying teams to acquire a player from another team by way of S&T.

 

well i hope the pitch was "goran u will be our starting PG next year and we are trading Lowry"…

because Goran has already said he wants to go somewhere he can be a starting PG.. so unless we trade Lowry he won't sign here..
