I'm thinking he'd be a great player off the bench or do spot starts. At the very least it wont be 4 on 5 when we have the ball. and his biggest asset, he's young and CHEAP.

Which signing gives you more indigestion as a Rox fan? Ish Smith for $18m per, or Ryan Anderson for $80M?

WOW Ish Smith averaged 14.7 points on 14.8 FGA on the worst team in the league.

He's gotta be the answer to all problems

Ish would be a nice 3rd string point guard but he doesn't move the needle. Anyone getting upset that Morey didn't sign Ish is just being dramatic.

geezus...i am touting him as a piece. 6th or 7th man who can spot start at the 1. yet people keep saying "he's not the answer to our problems."

Because clearly Moridiots think we only need 5 players on a team.

i'm not the one who brought Lin into this thread, out of nowhere. I'm not the one who's obsessed and clearly butthurt about him.

lol hes never been any of that on a winning team. hes a 9-10th man on a winning team and a 3rd string pg/someone you sign when you're out of options at pg due to injury. stop crying over nothing

what in the world does this have to do with anything? are we talking about a kid that just entered the league at 20. were talking about a 28 yr old who has struggled to stay on teams for going on 6 years now. if you think he's just going to get better youre sadly mistaken

Why mention LOFs (and by immediate association, Lin) into an Ish Smith thread? You're clearly obsessed by him, and your butthurt really shows.

2 types of fans. Actual basketball fans who actually watch the games and players closely. Then guys like you, strictly boxscore fans. The problem is when it comes to assessing a player you can only judge him off what his statline says. You can't factor in minutes played, style of play or any X's & O's. Ish Smith has played well everywhere he's went. He's a solid PG. His shot needs work but he can push pace, get to the rim and create shots for others. But you wouldn't know that because you're too focus on his boxscore numbers

I remember someone else who sucked much more in the Portland series (and cost us at least one win by hogging the ball in the closing minutes and totally blowing our momentum and a ten-point lead), so of course you have to blame Lin. Do "honor" and "fairness" still mean anything to you?

He's 28 and he's been on 1/3rd of the teams in the NBA. That's not an exaggeration, he's been on 10 teams in the NBA.

He's not a bad player. He played alright with New Orleans last year and he did OK with the sixers. And yes, bench depth would be good. But he can't shoot, he's undersized, he's not a spectacular finisher, can't get to line, and when he gets there he's terrible at the line for his position.

He can pass that ball very well, I can admit that, but he's far too ball dominant for this team. Harden is the ball handler, then Gordon and Beasley are when Harden is on the bench. He's just not a good fit.
