Lowry is playing at an all-star level. So there is that.

We already have Parsons who plays better against Kawhi head to head.

Marcus Morris is playing well with the Suns. We just needed better rebounding from him and PPat.

Daryl was really searching for a stretch 4 so he kept drafting tweeners. We're seeing how effective TJones and Casspi are as quick, mobile 4s. I read an article once that said Morey was ahead of the curve in recognizing the positional revolution that's taking place in the NBA. It has become a PG's league and Lebron with the Heat revolutionized the 4 position.

Lowry is the closest PG we got to an allstar.
You could argue for Dragic but the league wasn't all that into him.

Did we ever draft an Allstar PG or PF?

The last was a Francis signing.

Not necessarily Morey, but our front office, stats people, scouts are very capable. I believe we have one of the top best front offices in the NBA. We have a good system down in the Valley that other NBA teams are trying to duplicate(our executives are sought after, and so are our coaches). The draft can be a hit and miss sometimes, but our FO has rolled the dice and have produced good results not only on PF and PG but other positions also.

A minor team or Farm team is common in Soccer, Baseball and other sports.
That is nothing new. They just incorporated it to Basketball.

That's true i am aware of it, but currently in the NBA nobody puts more use to it and has focus more on it that our FO.

Lowry was playing at an all-star level in 2010-11 and up until the injury the following year. He put up the same numbers that Lin puts up plus was a lockdown defender. My great hope is that Beverly can develop his game closer to Lowry. He's already got the defensive intensity - just needs to polish up on offense.

As for the eye question, add Lowry to that list of finds. Trading Rafer Alston for Lowry was such a genius move back then as it moved AB into the starting lineup and netted us Lowry.

We have never had picks high enough for a legitimate chance of drafting a high caliber PG/PF since Francis.

Though, Morey was able to secure borderline all-star level PGs in Lowry and Dragic without giving up anything significant at all.

Lol yeah I give them that. We tend to draft HOFer Centers but neglect other positions.

I wish we could change directions next time we get the chance and directly take a Love, Garnett, Duncan or Dirk.

The modern era has proven that SGs (or in some cases, SFs)/Cs are the best positions to build around, with PFs and PGs having the worst success rates as centerpieces.

Morey surely knows this, and sees the PG/PF spot to be less valuable and more easily replaceable.

That's cute but once again, just dismiss the facts that Lowry put up pedestrian numbers and wasn't much of a shooter...as a matter of fact .419 LIFETIME...and that's over a 9 year period.

Also, even though they aren't starting both Morris brothers are having very good seasons on a PHX team that came out of nowhere to surprise everyone. So while I agree that both Faried and Leonard would be better fits with this team now let's not act like Morris was a garbage pick.

    Worst? Maybe slightly unlucky.

Billups, Tony Parker, Rajon Rondo making a case as well as Duncan, Dirk, Garnett.

Steve Nash made 3 WC finals but he wasn't a complete player.

The last borderline Allstar SFs we drafted for other teams.

    Gay and Nick Batum.
