I think Morey leaves after this season unless we win a chip. He built the roster to go all in and the owner isn’t willing to go into the tax. He has to be incredibly frustrated with that.
Mark my words, Daryl's eventual exit might not play out in full view of the public, but it will be as humiliating and personally painful as Tilman can make it.
Every GM in the league would be a "tenuous fit" with Tilman. The job of a GM is to make the team as good as possible, and Tilman actively prohibits that. Morey will leave the Rockets at some point in the near future. There's simply better opportunities for him elsewhere.
I have outlasted them all....bwhwahahahahahahh And, I think Morey leaving will make us significantly weaker. DD
FWIW - I don’t expect DM the GM here on 7/1/20. I also expect DM the GM to take a basketball sabbatical. I sense some Nate Silver-esque future. I fear for the future GM’s effect; and I fear the future GM just might be neptismically selected...
No kidding. He's done what very few GMs manage to do in their career, but is being stopped from adding the finishing touches by the cheap owner. Tilman is Morey's handicap.
tilman is the modern day donald sterling. we don't even have a normal fuking coaching staff with this clown
Tillman currently employs 3 people who can be considered in the top 15 in the world at what they do. Daryl is better at his job than Tillman is at his. Nothing Tillman can do will change that.
I listened to the podcast and Hollinger was baffled that the Rockets are all-in with the big, splashy moves except that they are not truly all-in because they are trying to do it on the cheap with their coaching staff and counter-productive moves to get under the tax at all costs.
99ers know of the Charlie Thomas , Les Xi Alexander and Tillman Owners @Jontro we have the pure opinions
