Well, a Yao-led team without T-Mac never lost 19 games straight like the Orlando T-Mac! !

I agree with the bold part...Why don't our players show up when T-Mac is on the court (exept of Yao of course)? This is the point Adelman has to understand...I believe he must let T-Mac understand if is hot or not, if is not he has to became our playmaker and if he don't want bench him!

Did you even WATCH the game tonight? Yao hit two FT's in 2OT with 4 seconds left to tie the game and then GIVE US THE LEAD. Yet you're saying "show true leadership" and "make tough shots down the stretch". WTF.

    26/19.
    19/17.
    28/14.

What do you think that is? That would be Yao's stats from the last three games. I don't care what team you play for, if you put up those kind of numbers, you are doing SOMETHING right.

Yao is surrounded by "shooters" who, up until tonight, could not hit the broad side of a barn. Literally. You take TMac's 20 million and go out and get some SHOOTERS, and then you would see how well this team would do without good ole TMac. Hell, we had a decent shooting night tonight, and look at the results. It wasn't a win, but it sure as hell wasn't a stagnant, "hey, look at that, TMAC just shot another contested jumpshot," game. And that, I'm happy to say, is a blessing to many Houston fans.

I have been a fan of TMac since the day he got here. But something has to give. It's no secret that our offense looked better than ever tonight, and although we took a TON of three pointers, the ball was moving like it should. I don't know what the answer is, but it sure as hell ain't on Yao.

If ever there were an ironic time for a Clutchfans member to say "Yao never steps up at crucial times," you hit the nail on the head buddy.

    Totally agree.

And don't forget, last year when Yao was done, Motombo and Howard stepped up big for a long stretch.

When T-Mac is out, no role players did the same thing.

Bring out T-Mac, bring in another solid $10M level PG (who can shoot well and can pass well, and has heart as well), I will be confident that Rockets will achieve at least the same for the past several season.

That will be a fair comparison.

If T-Mac could retain the same record with neither Yao and Motombo, that would have mean something different. This would be the similar situation like when Yao had to carry the team alone.

When was T-Mac able to do this CONSISTENTLY?

Totally agree with that T-MAC always get hurt when coming some tough games.

Here's what the history books will say about the Houston Rockets in the first decade of the 21st century: They had some of the greatest physical talent and personal discipline in NBA history, but those assets were squandered by being separated into two different players.

After last night, I am hopeful the Rockets will be able to beat off the monkeys on their backs.

When t-mac is in the game we win more, no doubt. it is because our offense flows much better when t-mac is there.

for one, he can create for others, a playmaker.
    second, he draws defender.
however, that's because he is a star player. any star can command and demand those quality.

Tmac is a great player but he commands the ball to flow thru him too much, and we don't have anyone else than can share the responsibility.

We either get ourselves a great PG and not let tmac handle the ball that much or trade t-mac to get those missing pieces.

Not to mention Tmac disappear in playoffs

For teh last 4 years plyaers were depending on Tmac to carry them with big points. Instinctively, when tmac is out, they tend to become down. But as JVG once pointed out, they are in better shape without tmac or yao. It's just a matter adjusting mentally.

Look at the Mavs, when Dirk was the main focus of the offense, they were just a regular team although he was pouring some good numbers night in night out. When theystarted sharing the ball, BALANCE OFFENSE, they win big gamess. Of course don't point me to the finas against Miami. That was a mental breakdown.

When Tmac comes back, please......................... do a balance scoring. no more freaking ball hogging.

Ditto. It's a weird coincidence, but T-Mac always seems to get injured around the hardest part of the schedule.

Give a Yao-led Rockets team without T-Mac the whole season and we might get pretty close.

We obviously need the guy in the lineup and are at his mercy as long as he's injured and/or doesn not want to play or play hard.

But I think if they play with the commitment they displayed last night, the Rockets will be fine.

If you get flamed, you brought it on yourself for being completely stupid and not looking at the statboard.

Haha, Yao is not a quiter. He plays hard every night. Yao is not a sissy, he plays with half a toe. Can't say the same for Tracy, so it's way more likely the other way around! :p
