Source: ESPN Mohammad El Akkari joined the exclusive 100-point-game club when he scored 113 in a Lebanese league game Tuesday. Akkari, who came into the game averaging only 7.6 points per game in 23 contests, made 40-of-69 shots, including 32-of-59 3-pointers, according to fibaasia.net. He made only one free throw. "Thank god for this performance. I think it's all a result of my practice," Akkari said, according to fibaasia.net. "I also want to thank my coach for letting me play that long and all my teammates for helping." Records show that this was the first 100-point performance in an official game in any league of the FIBA Asia National Federations. According to fibaasia.net, 100 points have been scored in a game in Asia twice: Lou Salvador had 116 for the Philippines against China in the 1923 Far Eastern Games and Jeron Teng scored 104 points in a high school game in the Philippines. Akkari, a 27-year-old who has spent seven seasons with the Tripoli club, joins that group and legendary Wilt Chamberlain, who scored 100 points for the Lakers against the Knicks in 1962. Chamberlain, though, made 28 free throws in that game. "He's a phenomenal but very underrated shooter," Moutahed coach Ahmad Fadel said of Akkari. "He puts in a lot of hard work in practice. I am not surprised." Moutahed won the Lebanese Division A League Final Eight game against Bejjeh173-141.
"He averages 7.6 points a game. The fact that he scored 113 points does not surprise me. He was due for a performance where he scores 14.8 times his average. Everyone does it. Whatever."
(meant to quote 'he was from houston' reference...) LOL... que "and Morey let him get away from us..." rant, coupled with Jeremy Lin reference.... LOL (realizing DM wasnt in Houston when this guy was around...)
Question is, since Asians are in general shorter, is the 3pt line everything outside the 'paint'? There's no way in hell anybody is allowed to shoot that many threes. Must be a catch.

Perhaps after scoring his 32nd 3 point shot, the opposing coach decided that it was time to guard Akkari out to the three point line?
