Is there still arguing going on about Wally looking better than Cuttino??

The thing that gets me is he reminds me of Stockton's cuter younger brother, and that just makes me want to punch him, so he'll cry and say he's going to get his big brother to fight me, then I'd be able to retire with a life's dream fullfilled.

Come on Wally boy. Stop my drive, you poooussay.

He was talking about what you said about when you said Wally's numbers would be better per 48. They would be, but Wally couldn't go 48, or maybe as many minutes as Mobley.

IMO, Wally can get more points and assists due to KG, plus a non-iso offense. Wally could pass to KG to post up, getting an assist. KG could post up, get doubled, and pass out to an open Wally. Mobley doesn't have a post up presence, let alone a post up presence that commands a double. He can't get easy points and assists. Not to mention in the ISO offense, assists are rare.

Kidrock why dont you and U851662 go join the LA Lakers Board and annoy them for awhile?

If I recall correctly the only player that hasnt been bashed on this board this off season has been Eddie G, And Rudy has also been bashed I think you should get your facts straight before you talk....

Ok Im cool now just had to get that off my chest :D Sorry guys but its true anyway

The problems we have with Mobley on this board are ego, defense, and maturity.

Wally's not half the defender Mobley is, has 2 times the ego, and continuously yaps like he's a max player rather than growing up, accepting his team's cap situation and show LEADERSHIP in the playoffs.

You're a team that has never made the 2nd round. Who would you rather have in the playoffs? Mr. Clutch Mobley, or Wally? You can see in Mobley's eyes that he's one of those players that catch fire during the playoffs.

A playoff appearance for Mobes will shift the balance of this argument big time.

Mobes can always improve his shot, but Wally will never have Mobley's creative abilities.

Amazing, though, isn't Dicky V? He can liplock Jay-Will's crank and yet at the same time he can still shatter your eardrums: "THIS IS GREAT BA-BEE! I'M LOVIN THIS BA-BEE! DIAPER DANDY TRI-FECTA etc etc"

Oh yeah: to Hell with Wally Szerbiak. I'll take Cuttino any day. When our team starts getting some wins and some attention, maybe Cuttino will finally get his due.

I don't know if Allan Houston was asked; they didn't say anything about it in either the NY Times or Post that I saw and the stupid Post usually carries every single Knick related thing no matter how true or untrue.

i love it when people post stuff that would get attention. anyway.

Cat is better than Wally. Who cares if his 48 minute production is better. There is something alled fatigue. and when that kicks in the player stayrs to play worse and worse. And Wally jacks up as many shots as cuttino, and cuttino cares more for our team than wally does. Wally cares about his stats and money. Cat even has a slight edge in D than Wally. Remeber when wally got crossed and started stuttering back like 5 steps. forgot who did it though.

I can't believe y'all, that's pretty weak half of you are as bad as the Chronicle. And what is it with this if he was better they would be in the playoffs? I guess you're right a trio of Shawn Marion, Staphon Marbury, and Anfernee Hardaway just plain sucks  . And Allan Houston is selected ahead of Mobes even though New York is just as bad  . Don't get me wrong I am definitely a homer, but this is just plain weak.

Can we just acknowledge that Wally is an all star based on the merits of his game? Instead of the he looks better than Mobes rationalization?

Not to step down on Cat, but his creative abilities have to be less valued when his repetitive isos stagnate the offense, and he's nowhere dominant enough to warrant such a slow down in the offensive flow.

For example, I'll have no problem dumping the ball to Shaq every time down the court, his game's simply good enough to sacrifice the tempo, and also a post up game benefits from reasonable slowdown as opposed to a guard oriented offense.

There's side effects on Cat's creative ability, sometimes it's the sacrifice of tempo and teamwork. It's not so clean cut that Cat will be more welcome than Wally on the Pups. The Pups benefit from their fluidity and teamwork on offense to average the highest assists in the league. Isolating Cat while the other 4 players standing around scratching their crotch is not their brand of basketball. On the contrary, there might be Timberpups disliking this type of basketball.

I won't trade Cat for Wally, but Wally is a hell of player and deserves some respect.

What does 'merits of the game' have to do with the World Championships. It is about NBA Image. And further, regarding your second sentence, I don't see anyone here saying Wally is sexier than Mobley. That is like comparing Opie to the Marlboro Man.

    Let's make no mistake:

Mobley is Sexy and had the best Bobblehead Commercial

Wally is Cute, and it makes you want to punch him 'till his head bobbles.

Mobley is a good player, who needs to trust his teamates, he is a very explosive player and a gym rat.

To really go to the next level he needs to practice defense and passing the ball to the open man....REGARDLESS of who it is.....

    That goes for Francis too.

even TMo when he's on the baseline 18 feet away!!!! although i suppose as soon as he passes it he could fly to the basket knowing he can catch the inevitable airball and slam it back in and get a highlight out of it. so on second though, pass that damn ball cuttino.

    Francis 4 Prez,

The reason to pass the ball to the open man is the way it makes the entire team better.

Jason Kidd understands this, and we are hoping that Steve and Cat catch on quickly too.

The bottomline is that the ball moves faster in a pass then it does on the dribble and it forces the defense to react causing them to get out of position and generally resulting in an open shot for a teamate.

I could take you quote and change it slightly to describe much of the Triangle offense.

The bottomline is that aggressive moves force the defense to react faster than passing, causing them to get out of position and generally resulting in an open shot for a teammate.

There are dozens of systems. You only express one. Passing Games without 5 shooters is futile. It is proven time and time again that defenses can get you to pass to the bad players then back off them and guard everyone else, leaving the bad shooter to do sumpin. Is that what you want? That is what Garnett did against Dallas!!!

What happens when we have mobley/francis/nachbar or rice in the lineup?.. just thinking rudy going after 3-point specialists at the 3 is going to kill the rockets D even more?.. unless T-mo plays alot of the 3
