I just heard this on 610....Rockets are giving a "future" 1st round pick. Not this year at least from how I understand it.
I was happy earlier in the day when we got James and all of a sudden I'm feeling sick. Vin+ Moochie+ a 1st round pick sounds very bad. I just hope it isn't this year's 1st round pick.
This is a good trade because it was apparently the only trade that could be made to dump Mo's contract. Better or worse, he was going to sit on the IR for the length of it as long as JVG had anything to say about it. If we waive Baker and Moochie, if they sit on IR, if they're there just for injury related emergencies, fine. Even if they do nothing at all, they're gone before Mo would have been. And there's actually a chance Baker could contribute. A teeny tiny chance, but a chance. He's done it before. I'm not crazy about giving up the pick, but where would we have picked this year anyway? 20th or so, right? I don't much see a low first rounder cracking the rotation next year anyway.
Does it really matter whether it's Mo Taylor wearing a suit at the end of the bench or Vin/Moochie? Once you get over the initial shock that your team just traded for Moochie Norris and Vin Baker, this was a good deal.

Can't believe that Moooooochie is back! The only positive I can remotely think of might be some team chemistry? He seemed to get along really well with all the old rockets teammates especially Yao if I remember right. Didn't Yao once samsh his car when learing to drive?

This trade sucks. It would have been better to let Mo waste away on the bench and then try to trade his contract away next season when it would have been easier to get something for him. This trade SUCKS!!! At least we picked up James though.
