Mo Taylor can score when he wants to, but that is all that he can do. He cant gaurd the prime time forwards and he cant rebound and he really does not run the floor as well as we need him to. He can score though but we have enough scores as it is. We need a banger that does all the dirty work. what do you guys think about bringing back the rebounding king dennis rodmen. I know that he is crazy, but maybe Rudy could get him to focus on the game instead of the publicity. ------------------ Steve and Mobley will lead this team to the championship for years to come
If you get rid of Mo, who is your low post scorer? It's much much better to have a team without a big banger than it is to have a team without a big man who can consistenty score and create his own shot. I've been gone for a few days, but it's obvious nothing has changed. Shandon doesn't have to go when he throws up 0 point games. Hakeem doesn't have to go when he gets beaten down the floor and shoots a low percentage. Steve doesn't have to go because he has too many turnovers. Cat doesn't have to go because a lot of people don't think he passes a lot. Cato doesn't have to go even though he makes more money that Mo and rebounds about the same. But Mo? Oh, well if he struggles a little in his first month in limited minutes on the boards, it sure makes a whole lot of sense for him to have to go and no one else. People have said that about Rodman for years by the way. How come it hasn't worked anywhere? We would never put that kind of influence on our young players. Never. ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club! Looking for next year's Jason Collier or Dan Langhi? Draftsource.net ClutchTown.com
I did not put this post up because I think that Mo Taylor sucks. He is good scorer and good benifit a number of teams in the NBA. But he does not benefit us because he cant do the things that we lack in and that is rebounding and playing defence. We have many low post scores that could fill in and get the job done. Maybe not is good as he would but they would do enough. Rodman would be a bad influence on are team but he plays with desire and thast is something we are really laking. He brings excellent rebounding, and he can play good defence, we would have more oppurtuities for shandon and steve to do there thing and score. ------------------ Steve and Mobley will lead this team to the championship for years to come
Dream shooting a low percentage? last time i checked he was leading the regulars in FG% . . . the bottom line is that I would take Dream's numbers over Mo's at this point in the season, and if anyone had suggested that Dream would be playing as well as, if not better than, Mo during the season, the Mo signing would probably have to be looked at as a flop. And look at the stat lines (probably unreadable but i will highlight the important parts below): Name G MIN/G FGM-A FG% FTM-A FT% 3PM-A 3P% REB REB/G Asst/G Stl/G Blk/G TO/G PPG Maurice Taylor 17 26.71 78-171 45.61 19-27 70.37 0-0 0.00 66 3.88 1.06 .24 .59 1.88 10.29 Hakeem Olajuwon 17 25.88 65-135 48.15 32-51 62.75 0-0 0.00 99 5.82 1.18 1.35 .88 1.12 9.53 Eerily similar. But in about a minute less per game, dream is short about 3/4 of a point in avg, 2 boards ahead, has a better FG%, way more steals, more blocks and assists, and fewer turnovers. And this is a guy in MO who wanted the MAX and all everyone was saying before the season was "hakeem should retire, he sucks". (well not everyone but you get the point). In some ways it's sad that Dream, at his advanced age and with a load of extra lbs, is still a better defender than MO by a long shot. CONCLUSION: as usual, proponents (in this case of MO) and detractors (in this case of Hakeem) overstated their cases. MO is not worthy of much more than the $2.5 he's getting this year, based on his early play. Hakeem is not done. ------------------
