To all the doubters: I guess I was kinda surprised/shocked myself that my friend would even make this claim. To me I thought it was understood that MJ was better. I know Kobe is currently one of the elite Guards playing for the same coach, and there are some similarities between the two players that would have provoke such an inquiry. It's been awhile since Jordan's playing days, so I thought maybe my memory of him had dulled. I thought I may have overlooked some facet of Kobe's game that would have justified his argument. But in the end I just couldn't understand or see his case. To me MJ is clearly the choice . Thanks for your responses.
Ever get the feeling MJ vs Kobe is something 10 year olds would debate about after only a season of watching the NBA? I don't know, just feels like this topic is beyond older people...

MJ is the GOAT. The real question with Kobe is whether he's in the all-time top 10, or just the all-time top 15-20.
