+1. One time, I tried to pick up some Star Trek DVD sets that were mispriced in Best Buy's ad. They had not posted an ad correction in-store. I could NOT for the life of me get them to honor the price, even though it was CLEARLY advertised... I went to Circuit City + Fry's and was able to PM. Only the store whose ad it was absolutely refused. Had something similar happen on another occasion. Best Buy hates honoring misprices, so seriously don't hold your breath. I have maybe been there twice this year. Not worth the effort.
Best Buy just killed it. It won't let me complete the shipping portion. After you click continue, it removes all the TVs from your cart.
There might be a hacker involved. I got the "invalid certificate" warning saying a source might be pretending to be so and so .net I'm using Safari if that matters
ha. Yeah, that's probably not going to happen. As stated in the thread, pretty much all the major chains have something to protect themselves from this stuff in their terms.
LOL No one is going to be getting a 52" 120mhz 1080p LCD Samsung for $10 For the record, as of 7:45 CST, it still lets me add two of them to my cart at that price, after three or four attempts to get it to add, but there is no point in even bothering to complete the transaction.
I don't know if any tv cost $10 bucks but, if there is one then I suppose dogs could fly out of my ass...
Best Buy truly is Satan incarnate. I've worked for an underbelly warehouse affiliated with them. They sent in one of their corporate goons to clean the place up. He fired over half the warehouse within the first 2 weeks. Complete d******d.
It is possible that a hacker would be able to intercept the traffic going to their website through some rogue router point along the way and issue their own certificate that pretends to be a valid security certificate for Best Buy. Then, they would actually get the valid certificate from Best Buy to allow the user to continue shopping. It's called a man-in-the-middle attack. Then, they would be able to intercept the traffic and decrypt your credit card payment data before passing it on. I was just learning about this per OWASP and web development. I doubt that is what is happening here, though. That's why it is important to be sure your certificate is valid and issued from the company's website you are interacting with. Most people wouldn't even pay attention to that detail because they have a padlock in their browser indicating the site is secure. http://www.owasp.org/index.php/Man-in-the-middle_attack
N00bs. This stuff happens all the time and never gets honored. Someone posts a deal like this every week on SlickDeals, FatWallet, etc (although few deals have been as mis-priced as this) and it always gets recalled.
I found out too late but I guess it doesn't mattter since their policy states they don't have to honor the price. It was worth a shot for those lucky enough to snag a few though. I woulda bout like 10....
what happens though? Do they give you the tv at a discounted price? Obviously not $10, but maybe $50 cheaper than the actual price?
looks like im late this is what is says at checkout # Our delivery system is temporarily unavailable. Please return later to purchase any items requiring delivery. We apologize for the inconvenience. Items available for shipping or in-store pickup may still be purchased. looks like all the delivery dates are taken
