Kudos to Rick but I don't miss him. I miss great players who actually make a difference in contending
I don't like Adelman personally, but you people mocking him for not winning rings or saying he isn't a good coach are ridiculous. He's been a great coach over the year, and while I don't like his offense, it is effective. It's funny how people will hate on the Lakers by saying the Kings series was rigged and they should have beaten LA (and went on to win the finals), but then make fun of Adelman for having no rings.
I would agree with you, but the term "Adelman's Defense" is an oxymoron. Adelman's offense was a joy to watch, but the offense is only half of the game.
Meh...put an Omer Asik in there instead of a 6'5" center and the Rockets defense would have been passable under Adelman.
A very reasonable opinion. And you may be right, but I b****ed and moaned every year Adelman was here, because it looked like JVG's influence on defense was gradually cast aside.
except that's a complete myth In 2008-2009 season the Rockets were ranked No.4 in the league in defensive ratings and first in their conference beating the spurs.
It did not seem like a myth to me at the time. It seemed like every year the Rockets defense got more and more porous. And every game this year it seems like the Rockets are a little bit better on defense, which I view with optimism.
You think losing Yao had something to do with it? 08 and 09 top 5 in the league in defensive ratings. 10 and 11 drop straight to bottom half of the league. RA coached both, only missing factors in the latter teams is a 7'6 center
Surely your not given credit to adelman when it was clearly a jvg built team. You walk on a team and make no changes, trades or improvements and take credit for it's success, please.
