http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...zz-talk-eric-bledsoe-paul-millsap-sources-say This would be big if this happens. Not sure if Clips would play Millsap off the bench or move him at the three. Also, not sure how they'd pay for him or if this would just be a rental (which seems like a waste IMO). If anything does go down, my guess is that it be Bledsoe, Odom, and a first for Millsap but I'd be surprised if that's the best deal Utah can find.
This deal might make the Clips the Finals favorite from the West. Would be a great trade for them. Probably would be a dream for Milsap since the Clippers would likely want to re-sign him. On the Jazz side, they will have an enormous amount of cap space this summer and could lock Bledsoe up. The question is will he want to sign there long term.
He won't have much of a choice, given restricted FA. Incentives are overwhelmingly in favor of extending or re-signing given a reasonable offer. On the other hand, will LAC be able to retain Millsap? He will be an unrestricted FA and there are plenty of teams out there with big cap room.
I hope Utah don't get Bledsoe! Me wants to overtake them in the standings, and their lack of a PG is their biggest hole.
Good. I know people were talking milsap for the rockets but he just doesn't seem like a max 4. He remind me of a Charles Oakley type player with a slight jumper. Hope the rockets get a better number 4. Aldrige would be perfect since he plays the perimeter (15ft) a lot.
Good point. Forgot Bledsoe would be restricted. Unless he hates the city, Milsap would be crazy not to re-sign with the Clippers if they offer close to anyone else. For NBA players, signing a big contract, playing in LA and also on a good team seems like the best case.
From reading clutchfans this is what I have come up with, And something doesnt ADD UP. clutchfans are crazy for milsap. eric isnt starter pg material morey has better assets but nothing is in the works for milsap
Why give up assets when you could potentially sign the guy in FA? Clippers are going this because it strengthens their championship bid considerably. Milsap unless he really cares about winning most likely won't stay there after this season.
The Clips are also kicking the tires on a move like this because they know how badly they need Chris Paul's signature in order to continue to be playoff contenders. A move like this would further the notion to CP3 that the Clips organization is serious about winning. I think the Clippers make a pretty solid move before the deadline, one involving Bledsoe, who by the way, is going to be a stud in this league.
How much is Millsap in yall guys opinion??? to me he is worth the same amount as what he is getting now...he is not a game changer at all...if you guys think he is then yall do not know basketball
