    Why is he screwed?

I think they only way the insurance isnt paying anything is unless that can prove he did it on purpose.

seems very coincidental that this happened to be filmed and the spot that he crashed in at. almost seems like he was aiming for taht spot, the one clear line to the water. I'm sure the insurance company is waiting to cut a check

That's what I was thinking. Can you imagine the business that he will get, after repairing the Bugatti and showing up on the Today Show? He can sell 20 more salvaged exotic cars.

This time, he knows not to bring any kids on the Today Show that says "He did it for TV".

He couldn't turn off the car because he was being bitten by mosquitoes for 15 minutes? Why didn't he just get out?

    Yeah...I'm calling fraud.

How are you able to get a 2.2M insurance policy on a 1.2M car?!?

If repairable, and since there are only a few that exist and maybe a handfull of people who know how to work on this beast, add in cost of shipping overseas in it's own container, that's why you get a 2.2 mil insurance policy.

Wow, what scumbags. So they bought this car knowing full well they'd be able to collect the insurance on it later. That's an awesome bit of karma that the kids just happened to be videotaping at the time. I would have loved to see the face of this Andy House douche when the insurers told him they had video evidence that he was lying.

Looks like he copped up to it. I guess he probably lost $1million bucks and is going to jail to boot.

"Up to" 20 years. That said, what is the proper sentence for someone who attempts to steal $2 million? If you robbed a bank and took $2 million from a vault, what is a reasonable jail sentence?

Seems like a fine number to me

It's $2million dollars. Plus with the way people think of white collar crime, he'll get off with less than the guy who robbed a grocery store for $200. Victimless crime, right?
Anyway, I think it should be around 10 years.
