for a 2009 seound round pick http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2531679 EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New Jersey Nets on Thursday acquired center Mikki Moore from the Seattle SuperSonics for a 2009 second-round draft pick. Moore fills a need up front for New Jersey, which will be without the services of rookie power forward Josh Boone for four to six months after undergoing shoulder surgery. The 7-foot Moore, 30, averaged 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds last season for Seattle. In eight seasons with seven teams, he has career marks of 4.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 303 games. "We are pleased to add Mikki to our roster," Nets president Rod Thorn said. "He is a veteran presence who will add depth to our frontcourt rotation."
Good pickup. Robinson is declining on defense, he's always been a horrid rebounder, and Padgett can't put a good 82 games together. Krstic will be getting more minutes this year, hopefully Moore will get his fair share.
His acquisition was solid since they got Moore for just a second rounder. I wish the Rockets could have grabbed him. Moore is a mediocre player, but he could have given the Rockets depth at the center position.
The Sonics are starting to look impressive at C and PF. They have Johan Petro, Robert Swift, Sene Saer and Nick Collison as their core big men. All are young with lots of "P."
The Sonics will look more impressive if they can get Chris Wilcox on board. Collison took a big step back last year. Petro and Swift - well, they have nowhere to go but up. I just got my Sonics season tickets. I actually thought about upgrading, since this will probably be their last season in Seattle. But reason won out.
