The kid is 06-07 CBA Rookie of Year.
He played with team China this summer and is Yi's backup.

Ding was very impressive with his limited minutes in the CNT last summer. He was probably the most aggressive CNT player on the court (go after offensive boards nearly every possession) and gained much praise from the commentators. He is listed 17 years old, frankly I can hardly be persuaded and I have no problem accepting Yi is currently 20 years old.

I have never had a chance to watch a CBA game so far, did Mike Harris guard him all the time in that game?

The leading goat? Love that idiom.

Thanks for pointing this out. Sorry I was too lazy to check the actual vocabulary, I think the correct word in English should be "bellwether".

Many Chinese articles (esp in Mainland China) loved to use the phrase (yes, bellwether was translated as "leading goat", 領頭羊, a 3 Chinese characters phrase) to describe "front runner".

Hey, I just found that "giddy" and "goat" form another idiom too. ;)

Harris guard him when they are both in, Harris only played two and half quarter though.

Ding shoot three over him and took him off the dribble.
But He also destroyed Ding in the low post.

Okay, finally this come to the end. Mike played the last regular season game in CBA this year. Since my last report, his team got a win followed by 3 consecutive losses. But his last regular season game is monstrous, 46 points 26 rebounds!!!

DongGuan Leapords eventually clinched the 6th place, they will be picked up by which top 4 team in the playoff is yet to be determined. If sina.com continues to post his playoff boxscores, I will post them in this thread, if not, this will probably be the end of this thread and thanks for your reading. Hope you enjoy it. Cheers.

    Disclaimer:

The figure in [GS]. "Game Started", column is a little suspicious here. I read an article about last evening game and it said Mike wasn't start for the Leopards. I think they made a mistake in Mike's player profile here. I copied all the stats from sina.com (the link above) because they provided the most details comparing to other web sites including the CBA official site. Apart from [GS], I believe other figures here are trustworthy.

He's wasting his time playing in that league. Hopefully he is working on his 3 point shot though.

Ultimately playing in China is/was a good move for him. Look at the exposure he's gotten. He wouldn't have gotten anywhere near this much attention had he gone down to play in the D-Leagues.

Harris is the real deal. I'm biased because I saw him play many games at Rice, but the guy competes and can be a force in the NBA.

I was pissed we had to let him go.

After the coop of getting Scola and then Francis I would imagine no one wanted to deal with Morey though. That or everyone wanted more than we were willing to give in a trade.

But why not get rid of Landry, or Novak, or Snyder...I think Harris is exactly the kind of SKILLED energy player we need.

We need guys that hustle AND can score.

Landry is a keeper. Novak not so much except that 3 ptr he's got. He might develop into a servicable NBA player. Snyder ship him out on the next train outta town.

Landry is injury insurance but Novak or Snyder have had their chance to produce and have failed. Mike Harris deserves a chance now.
