It's true. I obviously still use chrome because I am so partial to it, but anytime I stream from netflix or hulu I'm using edge. Now that edge has ad blocker, I can see it being a real challenge for Chrome to maintain its dominance.

The fact is that even bing is catching up to google search.

Bing is garbage. I either change the search provider in the browser settings or manually type in google.com everytime.

Is edge on macs? I'd give it a shot.

Its because Microsoft ships the DRM required for 1080p with their browser.

Another feature I like with edge is if you right click selected text, drm, for example, it allows you to ask Cortana, which then pulls up a wiki page, and more content, in a pull out box on the right.

Edge also has a reading view, which you can't ever get with chrome for some reason. There is just a lot to like about the browser.

What do you mean? It's the best thing since the Zune or the Windows Phone.

Because the world needed a solution for Apple's walled garden not being proprietary enough.

Edge is definitely setting the trend of browers at this point. It's cleaner than chrome, it's faster loading, has better battery consumption, ad blocker, an ask cortana feature built into a right click, which is extremely convenient, a better video playback, a built-in reading mode (and although I haven't used it yet, it has a cast to media feature which will allow you to stream video direct to your tv, phone, tablet devices.)

Not to mention annotation. I mean it is a good damn browser at this point.

Meh. Edge is still pretty damn buggy compared to Chrome, Firefox, Safari or even IE 11. Edge has a LONG way to go...right now it's still pretty blah to me.

It may be buggy, but it can do plenty that Chrome can't do. My biggest complaint with edge is moreso the memory usage and potential memory leak, but chrome is famous for that as well.

Point blank: edge is better. Chrome would rather add push button animations than come up with any legitimate innovations to their browser. You can't tell me that you would not want a read mode native to chrome. Edge already has it. Or having Cortana built into edge, why doesn't google have okay google built into it?

Or annotating or sharing. Google says f-you to all of it, we don't care. That's fine. Having the bookmarks tab flash dark grey is more their priority, something that is useless to most users.

Weird....I used Edge with Netflix for the first time last night, then come to find this thread. I completely agree Netflix is a much better resolution and overall experience with Edge vs Chrome.

Like to @what, as well as to @Air Langhi for explaining why Chrome has lower resolution for HD streams.
