I don't think this matters too much. I guess it's better to have it than not have it though.

I'm not surprised that Bloomberg is ending up supporting Clinton but I am surprised he is doing so at the DNC. I think Bloomberg was pretty comfortable as an independent and wanted to avoid the parties.

I agree that he probably won't make a huge difference but he may help sway some independents out there who have been undecided as they weigh which one is the lesser of the two evils.

Not huge, but it is somewhat relevant in that Bloomberg is not a Democrat.

It's probably more important that he's a successful businessman with a business savvy which might be taken with the idea of Trump as a businessman.

Bloomberg is someone who's business acumen isn't just about bluffing and being dishonest about how much money he's made.

So he's a better a businessman than Trump, and supposedly his speech will focus on why as a businessman he supports Hillary.

Miguel Bloombito is lifting Hillaroid up as a business leader? She has enriched herself off of her political connections, otherwise known as graft and corruption, in an unprecedented fashion. If that qualifies as a business leader then she is a true titan of industry. Maybe I should invite her to dine with the Mexican industrialists at El Azteca when the Texans play there?

You seem to have a reading comprehension deficiency. The article is referring to Bloomberg as a "business leader" (and an "independent"), not Hillary Clinton.

No one endorsement is by itself gonna add 10% to someone's vote total or do anything dramatic like that. What is interesting to me here is that Clinton's team is looking like that they are going after the centrists-- persuade independents and even some "Romney Republicans" who don't like her but can't stand Trump. The Kaine pick and the placement of Bloomberg in the prime time slot are both reflections of this strategy.

Shouldn't be a surprise. The Clintons have been in the more centrist wing of the Democratic party on economic issues for a long time. Obama is more or less in that camp, too. It's just that the GOP have been screaming about them being communists for a long time. Trump on the other hand, is attacking them as being centrists and insufficiently "Bernie-like."

It seems that this election may cause, or at least continue, a substantial re-alignment of the parties. Trump and the GOP are going in with the populist front with non-college educated whites and against the interest of large businesses. I wonder if this going to be pushing the business and banker types further into the arms of the Democratic party, which is becoming an alliance represented by the musical Hamilton.

Interesting that Hillary had 3 billionaires speak on her behalf within less than a week: Bloomberg, Cuban, Buffett. These guys play the role of 1) making the business-minded voters comfortable with her and, perhaps more importantly, 2) trolling Trump hard on being an inferior business person.

Trump has already lashed out at Bloomberg. I wonder if he'll have the discipline to hold fire on Buffett and Cuban. Maybe he's too busy running a campaign against Mr. & Mrs. Khan and trying to explain his Russian ties.

It's always fun to watch a little billionaire on (alleged) billionaire verbal violence. Out of the three that have stood for Hillary so far, I think Cuban is the best at keeping a feud with Trump going-- though Bloomberg might be the one to get under Trump's nerve the most give both are NYC guys.

I don't think Buffett or Cubes can provoke the kind of reaction that Bloomberg did. I honestly believe Trump only ran for President in the first place to stick it to the NYC elite who never accepted or took him seriously.

Cuban can if he wants to. Buffett is too much of a gentlemen. But I would love to see Buffett appears on Fox Business to make that offer of showing their 'under audit' tax returns to the public and ask what is Trump hiding?

Oh that is rich coming from that *******. In 2005, after his ****ty Mavericks dropped games 1 and 2 at home, what did he do?!

He whined and moaned like a little b**** to the league causing the league to most blatantly rig so that his team could win.

And he is going to call somebody else out for screaming/yelling/whining/moaning like a punk?

    ARE YOU SERIOUS NOW?!

I echo the sentiments of a few posts above. I come from a family of dems and none of us are voting for Hillary.

I don't see Hillary giving much back to a growing disenfranchised lower middle class. Most Americans rather have jobs that brings them dignity than rat hole entitlements that come and go without a moments notice.

I hope I'm wrong but I don't like this pay to play wall street realignment.

Bloomberg is a pretty stark contrast to Trump as an entrepreneur who also has the engagement and social humility to successfully serve in government.

After seeing this videos of Bloomberg buddying up with Trump and then turning around and bashing him, not that he doesn't deserve it, says much about how messed up this world is. You can't trust anybody to be your buddy, not even your own half brother in Obama's case.

Trump is applying for the most difficult and dangerous leadership role on the planet with no experience: all true friends would have ostracized him, funded his opposition, steered him towards alternative leadership and promotional opportunities and staged a social intervention instead of vicariously living through his hedonism and vulgarity.

Exactly. If he was just running his business, all these people including Hillary can be his friends, that does not mean they have to support him for a job that he is obviously unqualified for.
