Beasley's biggest problem, besides the fact that he's a dumbass, is his tendency to hang around 20+ feet away from the basket flinging terrible jumpers and his lack of focus on D. They should have never tried to turn him into a wing. His talent lies in his ability to operate near the basket. The Heat ask their role players to spread the floor on offense and make quick, intelligent decisions within their aggressive defensive schemes. They're style is a terrible fit for Beasley and will simply highlight his weaknesses. And there's the fact that he's a dumbass.
Pleae dont make this true, because ill have to explain to heat band wagon fans that he is a pathetic basketball player and not a superstar
It's a great basement deal to get Michael Beasley for a little over $1 MM on a vet's minimum. Though, the guy is considered a knucklehead and a reefer addict of sorts (lol), Beasley remains to be a fairly young NBA player nearing 25 who is not a complete waste of talent, and can be a very effective player at times. For the Heat, it's a low-level Morey type risk ,where it will cost the team very little, if he does blaze it up too much or cause a bit too many headaches in the locker-room. Unlike his other teams or previous stint with the Heat, Beasley is not expected to be a regular star.
He hasn't shown any value as a role-player though. He's the kind of guy where if he can't be put in a position to succeed as a featured player, he's useless. This is like signing Eddy Curry with the idea that "all he has to do is defend and rebound!" when all evidence suggests that he's incapable of either of those things (and I believe the Heat tried that). I do think Beasely COULD be successful with a coach who can get through to him that will force him to play like a pure PF. But I don't think this is the right fit.
