If it's true, does it matter how long ago it was? It's not that Beasley has done something in these years to earn Riley's (or anyone's) respect. Apart from Riley, which leaders on the Heat will keep him in line? Wayde perhaps, but Spoelstra or LBJ?
At first my reaction was he probably won't be granted a visa to enter China. Then I remembered that JR Smith played in China....
Beasley as a 7th man coming off the bench wouldn't disrupt too much as long as he is only given 15-20 minutes a game. Plus for the vet's minimum salary if he doesn't work out he can be shipped easily before the trade deadline for peanuts.
They are already favored to win. Don't know if he moves the needle that much. It's more like he adds volatility to the possible outcomes, with the average being about the same, but the high end higher and the low end lower. As such, it's more a move for an underdog to make trying to get an edge to beat the favorites -- like McCain picking Sarah Palin for a running mate.
blessing in disguise... this is a good fit.. you guys remember when Rodman signed with Bulls??? I'm sure Beasley will behave in the company of king james.
This is a reasonable idea for Miami. There is no way he can mess up a veteran team like Miami. It's more of a no risk, possible reward type of move.
He likely wouldn't play much, but he's probably better than Rashard Lewis, James Jones and some of their other backups at the 3/4 at this point. If he can stay out of trouble (big 'IF' obviously), this could turn out to be a smart move for Miami. Either way, low risk. If he acts up they could just dump him.
Great basketball move... Problem is the guy couldn't behave in Minnesota and Phoenix... Two places that have waaaay less distractions than Miami.
Comparing Beasley to Rodman here is an insult to Rodman. Dennis was an all-star, All-defense type player, regardless of his issues This is more like JR Rider signing with the Lakers.
alot of you guys forget what a crafty player this guy was he was at one point a taller version of James Harden here are some clips to refresh your memory http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aj_Z_3__eWA
Right. Harden. Sure, I guess I could see Beasley being compared to Harden. You know, if Harden started taking ****ty midrange jumpers all the time, started shooting less often from 3, stopped driving into the rim, stopped getting fouls, and stopped passing, I could sort of see the similarities between him and Beasley.
