When did Baltimore become part of the state of New York?

nevermind, I guess he's technically from NY, even though he spent more time in Baltimore.

pretty much the crux of it. If he cared about winning, he would have gone to Chicago. What, he wants the Knicks to trade their draft pick for Eric Bledsoe?

No he didn't. Every decision he's ever made was about the money. When Lebron was leaving money on the table to win. Melo was passing up opportunities for money. Nothing wrong with that just don't blame Phil for it. The Knicks were a mess before Phil and will be a mess for many years to come. Shumpert and JR smith were cancers. They should have kept Mozgov, trading him was a stupid move but that knicks team needed to clean house. Grant was a good choice but they need some bulk up front. Really the best bet would be to trade Melo at this point.

Not sure why everyone says Melo is just about the money. Melo is from NYC. He grew up a Knicks fan. Why would he ever want to play somewhere else? To do what Lebron did and leave his home state for the superfriends and rings?

So hypocritical of people to say that.

The only reason people say Melo stayed for money vs the other offers is because they don't like Melo and want to trash him, or just don't understand why athletes want to play for the home town.

Melo wants to be a Knick. period.

If the Knicks couldn't/wouldn't pay him the max, he would bolt. He gets the best of all; Max pay, living in the city of his choice and zero expectations to succeed. He treats basketball like a hobby. Its an insult to the game and an insult to the fans.

SO he cares more about the location rather than winning. He had a choice, leave to win now or stay in New York and suck for a while.

The only reason people talk about money is that he got more money to stay. You may disagree it was the contributing factor but the opinion isn't just based on hate.

Did I, or didn't I, predict a reply like this in my last post.

Oh, and btw, Space Ghost, I'm pretty sure you just gave Melo a compliment, in the bolded part of your quote. So, this guy is putting up Melo numbers as a hobby? Dude must be super hero.

I could understand Carmelo Anthony, but Stephen A. Smith is embarrassing himself right now. There's nothing the Knicks could have done to make this team a contender overnight. He has to know that. Must owe Anthony a favor or letting his friendship with him cloud his judgment.

If that is the case then why did he not demand a trade to the Knicks earlier in his career with Denver?

Predict what? I dont like Melo. There is nothing hypocritical about that. He's a part time player with no heart. Its irrelevant whether he wants to play for the Knicks or for the money and nobody is saying the guy isn't talented. What I am saying is if you want to build a championship team, Melo isn't the guy.

He showed he was all about the money by forcing a trade to NY and depleting NY if assets when he could sign there in the summer and have NY keep its assets. But the difference was a bigger contract for him. I don't blame him, but pretending he's anything but about the money is silly. Likewise apparently the original big three was supposed to be him Lebron and wade but he was too scared to do a 3 year deal like wade and Lebron so he couldn't time his exit with them and missed out on Miami. Again by he wanted the guaranteed money. Again that's ok - but don't expect people to feel sorry for him when he's stuck on a crappy team when he chose to put himself in that situation. Finally it's clear he's not a true superstar. He couldn't even get his team to the playoffs in the east when Lebron took basically the same team to the finals and put up a hell of a fight against gsw.
