    MELO has been used? LMAO!!!

    MELO has been PAID!

Nothing wrong with that. He chose a huge payday over a winning situation. That is fine, but don't complain about it now!

Should we go ahead and turn this into a "are the Knicks actually going to get worse off than they are now?" thread because their draft choice, Melo/Phil issues, seem to suggest they are not heading the right way.

melo (and SAS is perhaps helping with the narrative) probably planned this. sign for the money stay a season or season and half and then get traded to a good team and keep your contract also.

Phil Jackson should just respond to Melo "You knew what this was, the money is on the nightstand, get out"

It is not that easy. Melo will want a big buyout from Phil. Melo is so selfish and again I do not want him.

By "go" I didn't mean that the Knicks were going to cut him, I meant "go" as in "get out of my face"

Melo is stuck on the Knicks.

Thanks for clearing your statement up for me. I agree that Phil needs to say stop the whining you chose to stay here.

Melo is such a joke. Boo hoo! Someone get him a tissue. I have no sympathy for guys that just take the money and complain about competing afterwards.

Phil Jackson is also a joke. He took the crazy money offered like anyone else would have. Problem is, there was no reason to think he would be a good GM since he had never been in charge of personnel before.

James Dolan is the biggest joke of them all. Might be the worst owner in sports.

I agree PJ has had a change of heart. He doesn't care about Melo's feelings or "winning now". This is a good thing for their franchise. Not sure if Porzingis will pan out though.

This might actually be a good move for the knicks.

They could get rid of melo.

I don't fault Carmelo for staying in NY over Houston and Chicago. He's from the state of New York and wanted to win there. Same reason he stayed there is the same reason Lebron bolted back to Cleveland after making 4 straight finals with the Heat.

What's hilarious to me is to expect to contend with the players they had then and have now.

Melo could have been a better leader and welcomed his new teammate.

    No leadership skills

Yes he wants to go back to NY which is fine. But nobody believes that he actually wants to WIN there.

Melo is no LeBron. Any team with LeBron is an instant contender. Melo can't even carry a team to the playoffs IN THE EAST, let alone championship.

How is getting winslow over porzingis supposed to be win now? Dude's a freaking rookie for crying out loud  If you want win now you go with vets like Ariza, Brewer, Vasquez etc, drafting rookies for a win now strategy has got to be the stupidest idea I've ever read.

Rookies always have to be drafted for the future thats why getting a guy like Porzingis over an inferior but more nba ready rookie is the right thing to do.

Melo had the chance last yr to prove if he wanted to truly chase a title or if it was about money.

We all know what route he chose.

People are suppose to feel sorry for him now and that he was used.

    CRY ME A FREAKIN RIVER.

I see what you're coming from, however on the other hand drafting a player like porzingis who is atleast 2 years from even being in the NBA doesn't really make sense. He may very well turn out to be a very good pick in the future years from now, he may not, but if we're looking at it in the immediate future standpoint this pick does not help melo at 31.

Can we please lock this thread up. Melo is not going anywhere. Lets move on to more important topics.
