All I'm saying is you need to count on scoring 100+ points on any given night against offensively-loaded team like that. And if you wanna talk about circumstances, those 3 and 4 point wins could easily be 3 and 4 point wins for GSW if Iguadala played, right? So where are then game 6 and 7? Ariza is good but not 15 millions good, Luc was a no-factor in Finals, and imo Ennis pretty much replaces Ariza's production. So what Melo gives you offensively is only a plus.
The rockets were already a great offensive team without melo. There was a bigger room for improvement on the defensive end but they've taken a step back now. This is just horrible logic if you're talking about just merely scoring 100+ pts. Not trying to here about if's. it actually happened and on multiple occassions. so there's no point in questioning it.
One big reason we were able to hold them under 100 three games out of the last four (I count Game 7, because we could have let them run out the clock at the end) is because the Hampton 5 lineup (or any lineup with West) was destroyed by the Rockets. That's the case where Capela really helped, because he took Draymond Green out of the game and away from the rim...who blanketed Capela instead. The gravity Capela created against Green forced Kerr to play Bell/Looney about twice as long as normal. Those guys, while being contributors on defense to help Green, takes GSW out of the offense. That lineup change (to go with two Bigs, more) brought down GSW's ORtg, and brought a slower Pace to our liking.
I'm not as seriously worried about Cousins as everyone is. He caused problems in NO because they also had AD, and Capela could only cover one of them. In GS, Cousins will never be matched up with another traditional big and Melo or PJ can cover Green.
Nice. Much more lethal offensively if this works out. Defense will be fine. It's an arms race, lets load up.
Cousins being out there also makes Capela more valuable. Wont have to sit him late in games and if you do its forces Boogie to defend a perimeter or camp on Tucker in the corner.
"expected". I want news on the actual event occurring! Hurry up already. I'm ready to hear all of the ESPN pundits talking about how we dropped out of the playoff race for the third year in a row.
I'm already tired of the melo smelling farts gif. Over/under on how many times it's posted in this thread: 4
3 weeks to find a trade 1 1/2 weeks to finalize said trade 48 hours to really be gone How long will it take to sign after he's really free? What will we talk about now that 'Melo is here & Capela is signed? Fantasy trade scenarios where we trade Ryan Anderson for stars like Jimmy Butler?
